How to Train Your Crack Addict: Biden Administration to Study How to Get Drug Users to Distribute COVID-19 Tests

Of all the stupid experiments I’ve ever read about, this one truly takes the crack—I mean cake.

While the border crisis rages, gas prices climb and inflation is skyrocketing, the Biden administration decided it was a good idea to use your tax dollars to see if they can train drug addicts to distribute COVID-19 tests.

“The Biden administration will spend $1 million next year to fund a study on how to train drug addicts to distribute COVID-19 rapid tests to other drug addicts,” Fox News reported. “The project summary emphasizes that ‘people who inject drugs’ are especially vulnerable to the outbreak of COVID-19 due to ‘structural disadvantage, health vulnerabilities, and stigmatization that prevents adequate access to medical care.’ This issue will be addressed through a ‘facilitation of rapid testing by people who inject drugs (PWID) via a supported employment program that trains PWID as peer health workers.’”

I’m just going to throw it out there that I don’t think COVID is the biggest health risk these addicts should be worried about. But you know, #priorities.

I will say, I wish I could be a fly on the wall to see how this doomed project goes.

A few issues I foresee:

• How are we motivating the drug addicts to participate? A snort for a swab? Are we doing like a Pavlov’s dog dealy here?
• What happens if you lose your addict? Are we putting tracking devices on them?
• Should we really be encouraging this group of people to shove more things up their noses?

All important questions to ask. But the Biden administration hasn’t asked for my opinion, so my guess is this project is going to bomb. BUT DON’T WORRY, you’re still paying for it.
