Ole’ Trumpster is sure on a roll lately. When he’s not busy taking swipes at Governor Ron DeSantis, or having dinner with the likes of Ye and Nick Fuentes, he enjoys writing and publishing statements that would make most PR teams have a massive heart attack.

*Eye starts twitching uncontrollably*
After this doozy of a statement dropped, Elon Musk rolled in (probably in a Tesla) and had a beautiful response:
The Constitution is greater than any President. End of story.
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) December 5, 2022
BINGO.
As someone who is attempting to win the hearts of the party who loveeeees the Constitution, why Trump thought this statement was a good idea is baffling to me. Our Constitution should be respected and protected at all costs—not thrown out because you’re mad.
Now, do I think Trump has a right to be mad? Absolutely. Do we need major changes to ensure things like this don’t happen again and that our elections are secure? Absolutely x2. But he’s gotta rein himself in a little here and remember it’s not about HIM—it’s about what is best for our country.
….and throwing out parts of the Constitution is not what’s best, m’kay?
Trump did attempt to backpedal/clarify the statement a little. But the damage has already been done.

Trump is on pretty thin ice and is hemorrhaging supporters left and right. Making statements calling for “termination of all rules, regulations and articles” reeks of anger and ego. Not a good combo, and not what the conservative movement needs.
With silly mistakes like this happening so early in the bid for 2024, I do not have high hopes and I’m bracing myself for a stressful bloodbath—not the good kind of “red wave.”

See, that’s the thing. Trump is all about one thing and one thing only: Trump. In 2016, it was fortunate that Trump’s focus on Trump happened to benefit the country. Now in 2022 going into 2023 (actually the shift happened way before this), Trump’s focus on Trump is not to the benefit of the country.
So true!!!
Yeah. Not a good look for Trump.
Yeahhhhhh, reading his post made me cringe.
Sadly nothing Democrats did was against the rules as written. They are very good at gaming the system and knew they just had to basically wait out the clock as we have no mechanisms to reverse/undo an election. Universal suffrage has massively changed the game from what was initially put in place and not necessarily in a good way. Sadly I don’t think we can get back to a good point as we’ve passed a different point of no return.
“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.” -Alexander Frase Tytler.
I wish that quote wasn’t true, but it definitely seems to be.
