Earlier today Elon Musk, the new Twitter CEO, announced that he would be dropping a bunch of Twitter files regarding the company’s censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop story from 2020, the blatant censorship of which undoubtedly affected the outcome of the 2020 presidential election. Here’s the beginning of a thread by independent journalist Matt Taibbi regarding the Twitter files. I’ll go over some of the pertinent info, but if you want to read the whole thread, click this tweet and follow to each subsequent tweet. But the bottom line up front is this: Twitter was actively censoring users and user content at the direct behest of the Biden campaign team in October of 2020 and with no legitimate justification.
1. Thread: THE TWITTER FILES

Internal files show requests for content to be deleted labeled “More to review from the Biden team,” to which the Twitter team responds, “handled these,” and others that seem to have come straight from the Democratic National Committee, or “DNC” in the file.

Apparently, both political parties were able to make these requests, however the response to these requests was overwhelmingly one-sided in favor of Democrats and the Biden team.
11. This system wasn't balanced. It was based on contacts. Because Twitter was and is overwhelmingly staffed by people of one political orientation, there were more channels, more ways to complain, open to the left (well, Democrats) than the right. https://t.co/sa1uVRNhuH pic.twitter.com/K1xmqQ0TrD

The most horrifyingly partisan censorship started when the New York Post published their story “Biden’s Secret E-mails” sourced from the contents of Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop. Twitter went to great lengths to bury and censor the story, posting “unsafe” warnings on links, locking the New York Post’s official Twitter account, locking the accounts of high profile individuals who shared the link to the story including then White House spokeswoman Kaleigh McEnany, and ultimately blocking all related content under the guise of violating their “hacked materials” policy.
23. The decision was made at the highest levels of the company, but without the knowledge of CEO Jack Dorsey, with former head of legal, policy and trust Vijaya Gadde playing a key role.

Everyone knew it was bogus and they were just making up excuses to censor the story that would have undoubtedly damaged the Biden campaign beyond recovery. But everyone just played along.
https://t.co/j4EeXEAw6F can see the confusion in the following lengthy exchange, which ends up including Gadde and former Trust and safety chief Yoel Roth. Comms official Trenton Kennedy writes, “I'm struggling to understand the policy basis for marking this as unsafe”: pic.twitter.com/w1wBMlG33U

There did happen to be one Democrat congressman, Ro Khanna, who was concerned about how this affected things like the constitution and the bill of rights. You know, free speech and whatnot. But Taibbi, who scoured the files, could only find this one concerned Democrat. And his concerns appeared to be lost on the head lawyer, Vigaya Gadde, who was one of the first fired from Twitter when Elon assumed control.
Gadde replies quickly, immediately diving into the weeds of Twitter policy, unaware Khanna is more worried about the Bill of Rights: pic.twitter.com/U4FRLYYPaY

Hilariously, Taibbi discovered his own name among the files when then-CEO Jack Dorsey sent head lawyer Vijaya Gadde a link to Taibbi’s lengthy article about how the horrific censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop story was perhaps a bigger story than the laptop itself. A major issue internally for Twitter was that their justification for censorship was that the story was based on “hacked material,” which violated a terms of service regarding hacked material. However, that justification apparently necessitated an official determination that the material was hacked, which wasn’t the case for the Hunter Biden laptop. In fact, the opposite was the case. Additionally, Dorsey apparently tried to intervene and tone down the blatant censorship, or at least make sure people at Twitter realized how horrifying and inappropriate their actions were. But his concerns made little difference.
There will surely be much more to come, so keep your eyes peeled for more information. But the mainstream media will likely not pay much attention to this. And Elon Musk himself has acknowledged that fact.
Oh you mean the same MSM that all colluded to suppress the story? That MSM?

While the revelations about Twitter’s actions regarding the Hunter Biden laptop story are certainly instructive, it is also important to have the right tools to access and freely share information. If you are interested in converting documents such as MOBI files into PDF format for ease of access and distribution, I highly recommend visiting https://pdfflex.com/mobi-to-pdf. It is a convenient and reliable tool that will help you navigate and share important documents seamlessly. Let’s make information accessible to everyone, regardless of format or platform.
All this proves is that the Democrats have control of pretty much everything that has the power to punish them when they break the law. The Democrats are completely above the law.
WTH. What are the beefs conservatives are having with former Twitter? Our side’s request to censor others was mostly ignored by the PTB at Twitter?
The DNC is not the government. It is a political organization. the Trump White house is the government. While this is not good, very unfair. and shows Twitter was censoring mostly on behalf of the Liberal left, they were a publicly owned company and not the government, so the 1st Amendment does not apply, unless they are censoring on a request from a government entity.
A case can be made, however, that the Trump White house by requesting people be banned for their views, they are possibly guilty of 1st Amendment violations. Why was the Trump White House requesting citizen views be censored?
The 1st Amendment prohibits:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
What happened:
10.Both parties had access to these tools. For instance, in 2020, requests from both the Trump White House and the Biden campaign were received and honored. However:
The devil is in the details and a lot of possibly other than your concern.
1) Point 9 says lists the tools and they are as follows: remove or review
Remove is clearly an attempt at censorship but review is less well defined.
2) Twitter is global, therefore not all users are US citizens
We have specific examples of what happened for one side but not the other and without those it’s best not to claim they are equal.
