Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy has never been one to hold back punches. He calls it like he sees it, and that’s always something I’ve liked about him. Sure, he’s slimy (he’s a proud lady’s man and has stupid views on abortion), but he’s not woke and can be entertaining, so I’ll cut him a little slack.
As a result of his non-wokeness, Portnoy has a big ole’ target on his back that feminists loveeee taking shots at. The most recent being a hit piece by New York Times writer Emily Squeal—I mean Steel.
David Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, rose to fame by capitalizing on misogyny and other offensive behavior. Now, he is a public spokesman for the sports-betting industry — giving him greater reach than ever. https://t.co/0Ehpyn165f

I won’t subject you to much of Steel’s article (mostly because she seems insufferable and it’s irrelevant to most of this story) but here is a tidbit of her opinion on the Barstool founder:
“Mr. Portnoy, 45, rose to fame by capitalizing on misogyny and other offensive behavior,” Steel writes.
So, she’s def a fan.
Now, here’s where it gets interesting: Steel claims Portnoy refused to comment when they contacted him, which turns out to be a big fat lie. And Portnoy proves it with a video of their conversation.
This is a direct quote:

“The Times provided Mr. Portnoy with detailed questions about this article. Barstool executives did not respond to repeated messages. Mr. Portnoy did not provide answers.”

Steel is supposed to be this bigshot, Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist, but it seems she was just too busy to sit down with Portnoy for an interview.
Steel is now claiming Portnoy is lying and that she contacted him last week to comment.
I emailed Dave Portnoy a detailed list of questions about my article more than a week before it ran. I made multiple attempts to hear his perspective. He posted an edited video about my reporting. https://t.co/ixVR1jJMTD…

Ummm, LAST WEEK? You’ve been working on this story for months, woman. It seems to me that Steel was too scared or just didn’t care to take the time to speak to Portnoy. And that makes her slimier than he is.
Thankfully, Twitter seems to be calling her out on her B.S.
Sorry but how is it fair to work on a story for 8 months and then provide one week to get feedback ?

Why wouldn’t you sit down for an on camera interview ? Are you scared of something ?
— Jackson Waite-Himmel (@actionJacksion) November 21, 2022
Umm, so why didn't you sit down with him? He offered. You declined.

Stoolpresidente knows he always has to have receipts as he is always under attack for having his own personal opinions.
