November 5, 2022If this doesn’t just perfectly encapsulate the Leftist view of free speech and the manipulation/curation of information in America, then I don’t know what does. At a Democrat fundraiser on Friday in Illinois, President Joe Biden told the crowd,
“And now what are we all worried about: Elon Musk goes out and buys an outfit that sends – that spews lies all across the world… There’s no editors anymore in America. There’s no editors. How do we expect kids to be able to understand what is at stake?”
Firstly, he’s now claiming that Twitter is an “outfit that spews lies all across the world.” Which is interesting considering the White House Twitter account has been fact checked multiple times since Elon Musk took over, including one fact check so huge that the White House deleted the post entirely because it was patently false and blatantly misleading. It’s also interesting considering many would agree with him, but they’d say Twitter was spewing Leftist lies all across the world by censoring alternative viewpoints and opinions and even relevant facts that contradict the narrative.
Secondly, he’s mourning the fact that “there’s no editors anymore in America. There’s no editors.” He’s saying there’s no one editing and curating the facts and narratives that are being presented to the public, which Biden and the Left sees as a problem. Because if they aren’t editing and curating the facts and narratives that the public is allowed to see, then people might be seeing things the Left doesn’t want them to see, which is dangerous to their power and control.
And directly connected to the absence of “editors” to control the narrative, Biden asks, “How do we expect kids to be able to understand what is at state?” Because the Left believes that they should carefully control every bit of information in order to manipulate the public into “understanding” whatever the Left wants them to understand. He’s essentially asking, ‘How do we expect kids to believe what we want them to believe if we aren’t able to edit the information they’re allowed to see?’
The bottom line is that free speech is dangerous to those in power and control. They only want people to see approved information, so that they’ll form approved opinions on approved topics. Everything that is unapproved becomes “misinformation.”

How do we expect MOST people to understand what is at stake. Dumbing down education ensures the lack of common sense reasoning ability required to vote these jokers out of power. Schools are now set up to breed Democrat voters, not an educated voter base.
I’m going to agree with him about the editors, but not in the way he means. I’m talking about simple copy editing. There are so many articles from major news sites that are just riddled with spelling, word choice, and grammar errors. I think way too many just look for the red underline and pick the first “fix” or, even worse, just auto-correct everything.
They simply won’t PAY copy editors. I’m a former copy editor, and see typos and errors everywhere – in printed books also. In a time when it’s acceptable to use words incorrectly, and Merriam Webster changes definitions to accommodate political agendas, this is hardly surprising. eye roll
Editing takes time and we live in a world where “if you’re not first you’re last.”

So it was doing so before Elon bought it? Considering it regularly removes wrong-think I believe Joe kinda screwed up and admitted his side is lying.

In America why should there be editors? Free speech entails I can say whatever I want whether it be a lie or not. Though I grow tired of the heads I win tails I lose style or argumentation when it comes to Democrats vs Republicans in who is right despite mountains of evidence against Democrats and little to none supporting their assertions.

Present the counter arguments? Though when your system relies on ensuring they learn the b.s. first to make it harder to change their minds later this would be a net negative.
