Surprise, surprise. A new Gallup poll shows Americans’ trust in the media is in the gutter…right next to where Hunter Biden is, probably.
“Just 7% of Americans have ‘a great deal’ of trust and confidence in the media, and 27% have ‘a fair amount.’ Meanwhile, 28% of U.S. adults say they do not have very much confidence and 38% have none at all in newspapers, TV and radio,” the Gallup report said. “Notably, this is the first time that the percentage of Americans with no trust at all in the media is higher than the percentage with a great deal or a fair amount combined.”
I mean, after the past six years, who is shocked by this? We watched as the media embarked on a witch hunt to bring down President Trump before, during and after he was in office. We watched them flip-flop repeatedly on COVID-19. And we watched them cover for President Biden as he had (and has) gaffe after gaffe. Americans are watching, and it’s been eye-opening to say the least.
What I really want to know is who the 34% of Americans polled are that “. . . trust in the mass media to report the news ‘fully, accurately and fairly . . .’” Probably the same people who think a nuclear war would reverse global warming.
For funsies, here’s a list of things I trust more than the media:
