October 19, 2022The National Hockey League just did an “internal demographic study of its staff and all 32 teams,” and the AP claims that “the results show that hockey has a lot of work to do to increase diversity at all levels.” According to a 24-page report released this week, 83.6% of the NHL’s workforce is white and about 62% are men. According to NHL’s executive Vice President of social impact, growth and legislative affairs, Kim Davis,
“The whole purpose behind doing a workforce study is to provide a baseline: a fact-based baseline so that you can begin to develop very intentional and specific strategies around where you need to hire, how you need to hire, how you need to improve your brand. This is a good start, but there’s a ways to go.”
The AP goes on to say that “one of the next steps is turning the data into a race and gender report card produced by the University of Central Florida’s Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sports” so they can change their hiring and recruiting practices to be more divers.
So, here’s the deal. Diversity in sports only matters when there are too many white people. You want to know how I know? Basketball. According to statistical data, the 2021 NBA is 73.2% black and the average 2021 salary for players was $7.3M. According to this recent internal report, the NHL is 83.6% white and the average player salary is $3.5M.
So it’s totally fine for the NBA to be overwhelmingly black, but it’s not OK for the NHL to be overwhelmingly white? Where are the calls to increase racial diversity in the NBA? And where are the calls to close the obvious pay gap that exists between the two sports that have distinct racial majorities?
Now, maybe you’re considering the fact that the NBA generates significantly more revenue nationally than does the NHL, and therefore justifies higher salaries for players despite demographic specifics? By the numbers, the NBA generated $6.41B during the 20/21 season, while the NHL only generated $2.33B, so the pay discrepancy would make reasonable sense. But Megan Rapinoe, the super woke women’s soccer player who is on a crusade to get women’s soccer players paid as much as men’s soccer players, has taught us that pay gaps should be closed regardless of popularity of the sport or revenue generated. She says it doesn’t matter that men’s soccer is exponentially more popular and generates significantly more revenue than women’s soccer, they should get equal compensation. She has pushed very hard to set this woke standard.
So, seriously, what gives? What’s the plan? Diversity quotas in sports that aren’t sufficiently racially diverse? Is that really the plan going forward? And if so, do they plan on being consistent across sports, or only in sports that are predominantly white? And when does it stop? Does it stop at pro leagues and teams, or will colleges start to do diversity studies for their teams? How about olympic competition teams?
Y’all, not every single thing is about race. Reducing every issue and every organization to race cheapens the value of those issues and organizations, and does a disservice to everyone involved.

Easy solution – force minority NBA and NFL players to move to to the NHL (with accompanying pay cuts, of course) and force the non-minority NHL players to move to the NBA and NFL, at the commensurate higher average salary. Problems solved all around! ‘Murica!!! Freedom!!!!
Not many chances to play ice hockey in Nigeria or Qatar or Mexico so it stands to reason that those countries aren’t going to be well represented. Or am I missing something (that isn’t insane). That’s rhetorical, I know there are only insane reasons for this stupidity.
I’m still trying to resolve the ideas that white people have no culture and there is no great replacement but for some reason if something is “too white” it needs to be changed.

Unless it is a brand mascot, then it can can only be white (Aunt Jemima, Uncle Ben, Washington Redskins, Cleveland Indians, Land o’ Lakes woman, etc.). Figure that one out.

So they must enforce a strict racial quota system for players and staff immediately. They must force a bunch of non-whites to play hockey, and force the teams to hire new people to replace their existing staff of ‘white’ people to realize the new quota system. What is that you say, very few non-white people want to play hockey? Not our problem, force them to so we can have the quotas fulfilled and we can feel good about our woke selves.
Yes! We must listen to the nutters pushing this garbage and import black people from Africa and … force them … to work in jobs … they don’t want … Wait, is it just me or does that sound familiar?
