There is a new update on the Dasha Burns vs. John Fetterman saga, and it warrants all the eye rolls.
NBC reporter Dasha Burns recently conducted an interview with Fetterman. After the interview she addressed the fact that Fetterman was not able to follow the conversation in between the interview when he didn’t have closed captions telling him what to say.
She stated, “During some of those conversations before the closed captioning was rolling it wasn’t clear he could understand what we were saying.”
You may remember last week when the ladies on The View decided it was inappropriate for Dasha Burns to state the obvious. Now, his wife Gisele is mad and is demanding an apology from Dasha. She stated that the comment was, “openly ableist.” Has she heard her husband speak? Like ever? If he’s not making some insane comment, he’s fumbling his way through a speech, or completely losing his train of thought.
First of all, I was not even aware John Fetterman was married. Secondly, how can she actually think this man is mentally in a state to be in politics? I now blame her for allowing him, a man who can’t even form a complete thought in interviews, for even considering to run for Senate, let alone actually backing his decision to do so.
Gisele went on to say, “And I would love to see an apology towards the disability community from her and from her network for the damage they have caused.” If he is that bent out of shape over one comment, he is going to have a rough time in Congress.
Democrats are not used to having the liberal media criticize them. So the few times that they actually do, liberals immediately demand an apology. This woman has to be able to see that her husband is not fit to be a Senator. I don’t believe she actually gives a crap about her husband. Because if she did, she would see his not mentally fit to continue a career in politics and would not be supporting his decision to continue in this race. She should be encouraging him to sit back and recover.

When you believe (as Dems generally do) that nothing in life should be determined by merit, but rather everything should be determined by the boxes you check (race, gender, etc), then demanding this apology makes perfect sense. In that mentality, Fetterman’s mental state CAN NOT be a disqualifying factor, because that stance relies on the idea that Senate seats ought to go to one who proves they most deserve it by gaining the most votes; in other words, the one who most merits it.
That his wife is throwing around the “abelist” label just proves that she does not believe merit means anything; he checks a good box (disability), therefore he deserves to win the Senate seat. I also agree with your conclusion, Danielle – if she loved her husband she would have encouraged him to sit back and recover from his stroke rather than supporting his bid to gain a political position that he is clearly unfit to handle.
