The Arizona Gubernatorial debate was supposed to take place this evening; however, that didn’t happen. Why? Because Katie Hobbs refuses to debate Kari Lake. She’s been asked numerous times why she won’t debate Lake, but refuses to answer.
Ran into Katie Hobbs at Starbucks, so asked her why she wouldn't debate @KariLake

She REFUSED to answer and ignored me!! pic.twitter.com/lgC9N4sbsq
I spoke with Mosiman, the man that took this video, and he stated, “Katie Hobbs has had weeks to come up with a semi-decent answer for voters as to why she’s not debating Kari Lake. I didn’t think it would be that hard of a question. She can refuse to answer questions from me, but she can’t keep hiding from the voters of Arizona forever.”
Refusing to debate her opponents is nothing new for Hobbs. In fact, she refused to debate her opponents in the primaries as well. Clearly the people of Arizona are fed up with her and her antics.
Hobbs is trailing Lake in the polls, so it’s not surprising she’s doing everything she can to gain votes. But I’m not sure refusing to debate your opponent is the way to do that. In fact, I believe it is hurting her. But we all know the reason Hobbs won’t debate Kari Lake is because Lake would completely embarrass Hobbs in a debate, and she knows it.
Kari Lake had planned on still taking the stage whether or not Hobbs was going to show. But, just hours before the debate was to take place, PBS, a taxpayer-funded entity chose to cancel the debate.

However, even though the debate is not happening, Arizona PBS is still planning on hosting a Gubernatorial candidate Q&A next week with Hobbs. Of course they are. Lake was not invited. Of course she wasn’t.

This is not the first Democrat candidate to refuse debating their opponent (looking at you Fetterman). But it is frustrating that the left is just accepting it, rather than expecting more out of their candidates.

PBS should be defunded. If they are so wonderful, their listeners will support PBS with contributions. They should not be getting taxpayer funding to support one party, regardless of which one it is.
Here in Michigan, the Secretary Of State, Jocelyn Benson refuses to debate her conservative, Republican opponent Kristina Karamo. In both cases, Benson and Hobbs know that they’ll be soundly defeated by Karamo and Lake, so they chicken out from having debates with them. Go Kari and Kristina!
