Every now and then I catch myself thinking that maybe, just maybe, Jake Tapper is an Actual Journalist. He’s not terrible at asking questions, but what he IS terrible at is follow-up. He interviewed Joe Biden this week, and while his questions were decent, he didn’t push back against Biden’s ridiculous claims at ANY TIME.
BEHOLD – Biden on the INEVITABLE recession (which by definition we are ALREADY FREAKING IN):
Q: "Should the American people prepare for a recession?"
— RNC Research (@RNCResearch) October 12, 2022
BIDEN: “No…I don’t think there will be a recession. If it is, it’ll be a very slight recession."

Now, on Hunter:
"Prosecutors think they have enough to charge your son Hunter for tax crimes and a false statement about a gun purchase…how do you react to that?"
— RNC Research (@RNCResearch) October 12, 2022
BIDEN: "I'm proud of my son" pic.twitter.com/XspCDZyVJ4
WATCH: Joe Biden comments on the federal investigation into his deadbeat son Hunter, saying he has “great confidence” Hunter did nothing wrong. pic.twitter.com/xINqs4fUKY

By the way, lest you think I’m simply CUTTING OFF any pushback to these answers, rest assured I am absolutely not. You’re welcome to view the full interview for yourself. You’ll see. I’m just giving y’all some highlights.
Biden thinks the vast majority of Americans LIKE what he’s gotten done.

Biden is most unpopular president in modern American history. pic.twitter.com/5LWP5R76Ob
He bragged a LOT about all of his various “accomplishments.” And again, no pushback.
BIDEN: "We passed so much legislation *drops notes* that significantly makes a point about, you know, for example, the American Rescue Plan, the, the legislation to deal with inflation, I mean, the Inflation Act." pic.twitter.com/xKcOH2jHjv

Now, Jake Tapper was probably warned by all the WH staffers that the only way he’d get to interview the president was if he didn’t press him on any of his ridiculous answers, but STILL. What’s the point of even interviewing him if these kinds of nonsensical statements are allowed to slide?
Our media is just lost.
