Teachers unions are way too powerful in this country. They don’t care about children or education. I don’t even think they actually care about teachers. They only care about hyper-partisan political narratives and power.
Radical leftist Randi Weingarten is the president of the American Federation of Teachers, the second largest teachers union behind the National Education Association. Remember when she virtue signaled about her union standing behind Ukraine by having a bunch of propaganda posters made with the Ukrainian flag UPSIDE DOWN?!?! I’ll never forget it, and I’ll never let you forget it, either.
Tweet with the upside down Ukraine flag now deleted….it's really worrying that Randi Weingarten ever taught political science to anybody pic.twitter.com/gGl8gv7eXD

So now, because she supports Ukraine SO MUCH, she’s traveling to the war-ravaged country to support setting up schools for refugees. Because, as American children are severely struggling after 2 years of schools being unnecessarily closed for purely political reasons, mostly thanks to teachers union presidents like Randi Weingarten, a foreign war zone is CLEARLY where that teachers union president belongs. Right? Because why help the American children whose suffering you caused when you could win major virtue signaling points for helping refugees on the other side of the world?
I’m not saying that helping refugees isn’t a commendable effort. It’s a good thing to do. But this basically shows exactly what her priorities are, and they clearly aren’t American children or American education. America-last, if you will.
Here’s her tweet on the subject.
Woke up this am to reports of disgusting Russian missile strikes in Kyiv, Lviv & other cities.Heading to the border now to assess the situation. This Russian attempt to frighten civilians & the effect on children (who are learning online today) is why this πΊπ¦ trip is so important https://t.co/dUVOxsdwRQ
