CATO Institute Says Prioritizing Domestic Manufacturing Is “Fetish For Keeping White Males” In “Powerful Positions

Yes, you read that right. The CATO institute, which some call “right-wing” but is often considered “libertarian,” had an event at which Adam Posen, an influential economist, said,

“The fetish for manufacturing is part of the general fetish for keeping white males outside the cities in the powerful positions they are in.”

He’s basically endorsing overt discrimination against white males, which might be an issue in a country that is predominantly white. He’s simultaneously reducing a huge American industry issue–local manufacturing versus outsourcing internationally– to the radical left’s favorite buzzword: racism.

This clip really emphasizes the fact that America may be less divided left versus right than it is divided by expert power and elitism versus the masses. This man from the CATO institute almost seems to be arguing AGAINST a focus on American manufacturing, despite American manufacturing and avoidance of foreign dependence ultimately being in America’s best economic and industrial interest. And he’s making his argument by claiming the whole thing is racist. Incredible.
