Reuters Claims TX Abortion Ban Limits Big Oil’s Workforce Diversity Agenda

Y’all, this headline by Reuters is the dumbest one I’ve read since yesterday. Reuters Legal posted an article to Twitter titled, “How Texas’ abortion ban hurts Big Oil’s effort to transform its workforce.” They also chose a picture that makes their example couple look like exactly the kind of people who would move out of Texas when they realized they couldn’t abort their baby on demand.

Basically, the article explains that Big Oil apparently wants to be able to hire more women & members of the alphabet mafia (LGBTQIABCDEFG+=*&%#) in order to “transform” the workforce into something more “diverse.” Hey, gotta meet those diversity quotas to quiet the leftist mob. But Reuters is saying that now women who want to be able to abort babies on demand don’t want to live in Texas, where they wouldn’t be able to abort babies on demand, which limits Big Oil’s women hiring pool, thus limiting gender diversity (but really, what even is a woman?). Likewise, members of the alphabet mafia now don’t want to move to Texas and live in a place that doesn’t let people abort their babies on demand and probably also doesn’t want schools to teach 5 year olds to have anal sex, masturbate each other, and change genders behind their parents’ backs. So they won’t be adding their “diversity” to the Big Oil industry hiring pool, either.

Which basically just leaves, well, everyone else in the whole country who is willing to live in Texas and work in the oil industry other than radical leftists. And if we’re being honest, how many radical leftists are really working for Big Oil at this point? They’d probably sooner set themselves on fire (This is a reference to the radical leftist who literally set himself on fire the other day during a pro tennis match).

But Reuters wants you to know how upset Big Oil is that Texas conservatives are wrecking their workforce diversity agenda.

Reuters says,

“Oil companies have spent millions to counter the frayed image of fossil fuels and recruit a younger and more diverse workforce. But a flaring of political culture wars – around abortion, religion and LGBT+ rights – threaten to undo hiring and retention goals, according to interviews with more than two dozen workers and a national survey.”

Poor Big Oil, working so hard to be diverse and then being cut down by Texas conservative politics. They even have an example couple in their article.

“As Texas officials moved to restrict abortion, promote Christianity in schools and the state’s power grid teetered on collapse, oil worker Steven Beaman and his wife Hayley Hollands decided it was time to live elsewhere. ‘It is kind of the first time I’ve reckoned with the idea that I don’t think I’m going to live in my home state ever again,’ said Hollands. She likened the climate contributing to the couple’s decision to leave Texas to ‘death by a thousand paper cuts.'”

All of a sudden, Big Oil looks like big softies who just want to diversify their workforce but are innocent victims of conservative culture wars. You just know someone in Big Oil pitched this story to Reuters after a board meeting about how to soften their public image and garner a little more support from the radical leftists who are vilifying them for profiteering and trying to destroy their entire industry. Now they’re allies, see? Now, when radical leftists come after Big Oil, they can say, “C’mon, person of unspecified gender! We’re totally with you! We’re on your side! We’ve been trying to diversify our workforce and create an equitable industry, but those big bad conservatives are wrecking our agenda, too! We’re your allies!” Brilliant, really.
