In what EdSource calls “a significant departure” from the norm, the California Department of Education refused to release the data on English, math, and science test scores from last spring. EdSource says,
“The denial of EdSource’s request to release test score data comes at a time when educators are concerned about the pandemic’s impact on reading and math progress, especially in the early years. Releasing scores “later this year” means that the public will learn about spring test results for third-graders who are now well into fourth grade.”
California says they’re delaying the release so the data can be released with other data regarding suspensions and absences, but there is no release timeline. But I bet they’ll wait two months. That would put the release right around the middle of November. WOW! Just after the election! How convenient. The test scores, which will likely show significant educational failures that are likely due to extreme and unnecessary leftist COVID response policies, won’t reflect poorly on all the campaigning politicians who advocate for these kind of destructive policies. The scores won’t be able to be used against leftist candidates because they won’t have been released in time. Big surprise.
If you didn’t know, data show that California is the LEAST literate state in the nation. Weirdly, despite the illiteracy rates, CA Governor Newsom recently won an “educational award.” To be fair, it’s called an “educational award” to make it sound better for a potential future Gavin Newsom’s presidential campaign. But it’s actually an award for “equity” in education. It’s basically a “woke” award, not an “education” award.

1-CA is least literate state.
2-@GavinNewsom gets “education award” anyway, to bolster 2024 potential.
3-State won’t release data that confirms illiteracy because it would undermine his award & potential campaign. @EdSource pic.twitter.com/lYjYWUSVm3

Lets face it, everybody is behind in English, math, and history. Take a gander at the famous 8th grade test from 1895-

-I guarantee the vast majority will fail it.
