WATCH: “Don’t Judge People Just Because They Wanna Have Sex With A 5-Year-Old.” TX Teacher On Leave Following Controversial Classroom Video

Amber Parker, an English teacher at Franklin High School in El Paso, TX, was recorded by a student in her classroom saying some very controversial stuff about pedophiles. In the short video clip, which appears to have been covertly recorded from behind a desk, Parker can be heard saying,

“Stop calling them that. You’re not allowed to label people like that. Stop it, Diego. We are not going to call them that. We’re going to call them, MAPs. Minor Attracted Persons. So don’t judge people just because they want to have sex with a 5-year-old.”

To their credit, several students can be heard pushing back against this blatant radical leftist narrative and expressing their dissent.

Clearly, there was conversation before the video begins, the content of which is presumably what made this student decide to start recording. As soon as the district became aware of the video of the incident, they launched an investigation. District spokeswoman Liza Rodriguez said,

“After a thorough investigation was conducted, on September 6, 2022, during a Special Board Meeting, the Board of Trustees approved a decision to notify a Franklin High School teacher of proposed termination. Any allegation of potential misconduct is investigated thoroughly, and the safety of our students is a top priority.”

Initially, the Board of Trustee’s Vice President Daniel Call defended the teacher, saying that the video was likely taken out of context. But the eventual findings of the investigation apparently convinced him that was not the case. He told NBC News,

“Initially I was shocked and horrified when I saw the video. Then when I heard that she was trying to be sarcastic, I felt bad for her. However, when the district’s investigation into this situation helped me understand the full story, I have no doubt that terminating this teacher is the right thing to do. Any reasonable person that heard the results of the investigation would vote to terminate her.”

The Board unanimously voted to begin the termination process against Parker, which means there will now be “an appeals process governed by the Texas Education Code.” In the meantime, Parker is on paid administrative leave.

On the flip side of this issue, Parker’s family maintains her innocence and insists she was taken out of context, although Parker herself is unable to comment on the incident at this time. According to KFOX14, a man claiming to be Parker’s husband had at one time commented on Daniel Call’s Facebook post regarding the video being taken out of context, saying,

“Mr. Daniel Call I happen the be the husband of the teacher in question. I can tell you that we were shaken to the core about these accusations. It is both scary and disturbing that an edited 18-second clip could destroy a 30 year career when taken completely out of context. She is exemplary as a teacher and truly cares about the students. Needless to say we have spent many sleepless nights because of this cruel release to social media of the 18 seconds. We pray that you and the rest of the board will see this for what it is and not allow and edited video destroy an innocent woman, her career and her family in the process. I want to thank you personally for the updated post to begin to right this wrong.”

Student Ryann Ruvalcaba, a junior at Franklin High School also reportedly told KFOX14,

“She [teacher] was expressing how it was ridiculous how we [society] might not be able to call people pedophiles. That we [society] will probably have to start calling them MAPs because it can be offensive to them [pedophiles]. The class agreed.”

Likely more details are forthcoming as termination procedures unfold and more people speak out on the issue.
