I’m Loving TX Gov Abbott’s Snarky Announcement That A Busload Of Illegal Immigrants Arrived In Chicago

After sending busloads of illegal immigrants to NYC and DC, Texas Governor Abbott has announced buses have started arriving in Chicago.

Is this just a political ploy like his critics say? Absolutely. And it’s a brilliant one. Abbott and the state of Texas are tired of elitist Democrats in faraway cities pretending like there’s no border crisis and making lots of empty promises they don’t intend to be required to keep because they figure border states like Texas and Arizona will pick up the tab for the ridiculous promises. So in a brilliant ploy to call these people on their garbage politics, Abbott decided to send some of the illegal immigrants that are flooding into Texas to cities that call themselves a “sanctuary.” Because it’s easy to entice illegal immigrants to flood into the country and then sanctimoniously pretend to be a sanctuary city when you don’t actually have to shoulder much of the burden. So Abbott if offloading some of the burden onto these cities.

My favorite part of his announcement is this snark taunt:

“Mayor Lightfoot loves to tout the responsibility of her city to welcome all regardless of legal status, and I look forward to seeing this responsibility in action as these migrants receive resources from a sanctuary city with the capacity to serve them.”

He hilariously goes on to explain exactly why Lightfoot can’t do a single thing about him busing illegals into her city while simultaneously calling elitist Democrats out for creating and then ignoring a massive illegal immigration problem that has Texas border communities suffering. He says,

“Since beginning this busing strategy in the spring, thousands of migrants have been transported to these sanctuary cities while providing much-needed relief to Texas’ overwhelmed border communities. With its “Welcoming City Ordinance” making it a sanctuary city, Chicago will not deny city services to individuals based on their immigration status. The city also does not require local police to cooperate with federal immigration authorities.”

The irony is that Lightfoot’s Chicago is a failing and squalid cesspool of a city that can’t even take care of its current legal citizens, much less support a flood of illegal immigrants. And yet their own Democrat policies are forcing them into a situation that will be to the detriment of the entire city. But Democrat politicians really don’t care about the actual people they supposedly serve. Their priorities are virtue signaling and political correctness, which Lightfoot has in spades.
