Yesterday, the state of California issued a “heat bulletin” informing Californians,
“Excessive heat start tomorrow will stress energy grid. Consumer conservation likely needed this weekend to avert power outages.”
One of the most significant statements in that bulletin says,
“During a Flex Alert, consumers are urged to reduce energy use from 4-9 p.m. when the system is most stressed because demand for electricity remains high and there is less solar energy available. The top three conservation actions are to set thermostats to 78 degrees or higher, avoid using large appliances and charging electric vehicles, and turn off unnecessary lights. Lowering electricity use during that time will ease strain on the system, and prevent more drastic measures, including rotating power outages.”
By 2035, California will ban the sale of new gas vehicles in order to force people to buy electric vehicles as part of their radical green energy agenda. But today, California telling people not to charge their electric vehicles because the power grid can’t handle it and will crash. Incredible. Does this bolster your confidence in radical green energy policies? Does this make you want to buying an electric vehicle?
California has a serious energy problem. They’ve fully embraced a radical green energy agenda, which means that many Californians are subjected to living standards that less than first world because the radical green energy power grid simply cannot sustain the state. Rolling blackouts are basically just a way of life in parts of California. The failing power grid is such a big issue that they have a system called “Flex Alert” which will notify you of impending energy crises in the state so that you can voluntarily suspend your energy use to protect the fragile electric grid from failing. The alert system will send you prompts to do things like pre-cool your home, finish using major appliances, and charge up your devices so you aren’t doing those things during peak energy times and overloading the grid. Here’s one of the commercials they’re currently running to beg the public to voluntarily subject themselves to a 2nd world socialist standard of living.

As one would expect, the world’s 5th largest economy is laying-out energy and transportation policies like most government entities would that offer a comprehensive mass transit system. Unfortunately, California doesn’t have one.
Dear Environmental Extremists: So how’s that solar power working out for you between 6 to 9pm??
Basically, don’t do anything when you are off work?
