I consider myself to be bilingual, with sarcasm being my second language. It’s the perfect language to speak these days when something is sort of comical in a totally horrible and frustrating way. Which is pretty much all the things. Like when your president, who has already inflicted historic inflation on the entire nation, decides to make things worse by handing out $300 billion dollars to student debt holders while hundreds of millions of hardworking taxpayers are expected to pick up that tab for many years to come.
This ad by American Action Network addresses just this sentiment and is set to air during upcoming college football and MLB games. It features a mechanic, a landscaper, and a waitress sarcastically thanking Biden for this $300B handout plan that forces them to pay off the student loans of the entitled snowflakes who are hellbent on destroying our nation and got gender studies degrees from Ivy League establishment institutions to help them in this endeavor.
But it’s not just conservatives who are critical of these handouts. According to Axios, one Democrat official told them,
“This was our best political week in a year, and the Biden White House immediately stepped into it.”
‘Stepping in it’ pretty much describes the Biden Administration at this point. Other Democrats have expressed opposition to the handout plan as well. Nevada Sen. Cortez Masto told Axios,
“I don’t agree with today’s executive action because it doesn’t address the root problems that make college unaffordable.”
That’s 100% true. Throwing money at the problem doesn’t fix the problem. It only giver you a momentary political advantage with certain voter demographics. According to Forbes, “Billions in PPP loans went to higher education,” much of which was forgiven. And yet, they still closed their campuses to those paying for an overpriced education and still raised their tuition prices after that.
New Hampshire Rep. Chris Pappas (D) called out Biden’s method for getting this short-term political win saying,
“This announcement by President Biden is no way to make policy and sidesteps Congress and our oversight and fiscal responsibilities.”
First elected Democrat I’ve seen panning Biden’s student debt relief plan: Rep. Chris Pappas, facing a tough reelect in New Hampshire.

And Colorado Senator Bennet (D) criticized the Biden Administration for their inability to explain how it’s actually being paid for, as well as its inability to address the underlying problems driving the need for student debt handouts.
“In my view, the administration should have further targeted the relief, and proposed a way to pay for this plan. While immediate relief to families is important, one-time debt cancellation does not solve the underlying problem.”
I guess we’ll see if this short-term political win is enough to prevent a massive Red wave in November.

Just like one-time illegal alien amnesty didn’t help with illegal immigration, one-time debt forgiveness isn’t going to do anything to fix the horrible financial situation of paying for college. If nothing else changes, college will still cost $50k just to sit in a class that you have to pay $5k for the textbook because the author changed a period to a comma and that constitutes a “new version”.
OK, what budget line item is this coming out of? When did congress appropriate the funding to do this?
Budget line? Hahahahaha, there hasn’t been a budget since 2009.
Whenever there’s a Democrat POTUS, there’s never any budgets! It’s just spend, spend, spend as long as it results in potential votes
It falls under the budget line entitled: “Free stuff for people whose votes Democrats wish to bribe”
That would be in the General Kickbacks and Corruption section of the budget, page 4 gazillion and 6 I believe.
