Well, well, well. . . Apparently conservative faculty is hard to come by at Harvard these days (not to anyone’s surprise).
According to The College Fix:
Less than two percent of Harvard professors are conservative – and most other faculty members are opposed to recruiting more right-leaning academics, according to a survey from the campus newspaper.
The Harvard Crimson released the results of a survey it conducted with approximately 500 professors on topics that included school policy, climate change and political affiliation. A total of 333 respondents completed the entire survey, while another 143 partially completed it. The paper distributed it to the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and School of Engineering and Applies Sciences professors.
According to the survey, only 16 percent of Harvard faculty characterized their views as moderate and 1.5 percent identified as conservative.
“When asked whether they would support increasing ideological diversity among faculty by hiring more conservative-leaning professors, only a quarter of respondents were in support,” the survey reported. “In contrast, 31 percent opposed hiring conservative professors to increase ideological diversity, while 44 percent of respondents said that they neither supported or opposed it.”
The Crimson conducts a similar survey yearly, and the percentage of faculty who were somewhat or very conservative fell by around 50 percent, from 3 percent in 2021 to 1.5 percent in 2022. In the same year, the percentage of “very liberal” faculty increased eight percentage points to 37 percent while the number of “liberal” faculty decreased only from 47 percent to 45 percent, according to the paper.
For all this concern about “losing our democracy” brought forward by the likes of Liz Cheney and Adam Schiff, nobody really seems all that concerned about the obvious bias that’s stained America’s higher education system. If history teaches us nothing else, it teaches us this: the first step in destroying a society from within is removing diversity of thought.
If liberals truly cared about diversity, freedom of speech, or freedom of expression, then they would be concerned about this, too. They don’t care because they’re winning the culture war, and it’s become glaringly obvious that free speech only matters to people who feel as if they don’t have it. It shouldn’t be that way, but it is.
I’m not writing about this because this result surprises me, but we should all find these outcomes concerning. For a party that likes to hang their hat on diversity, they sure do love to create ideological echo chambers.
Liberals seem to think it only really counts as “diversity” if it concerns physical characteristics over which we have no control. It never concerns diversity of thought. Whenever the opportunity arises to implement true diversity, the left goes radio silent. This blatant hypocrisy has shifted from the exception to the rule. We need to figure out how to combat this, and quickly. If not, then we will cease to have a free and fair society that we forget to appreciate.

It’s not that they are ignoring diversity of thought it’s that they believe the other diversities naturally lead to diversity of thought. Combine this with the general belief of conservatives being evil and you have yet another item in the ever growing list of dangerous combinations that you should not let occur.
