This country has gone full batsh*t.
According to the sourcelink, Westland Middle School in Maryland had a required summer reading list for its incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Good, right? I appreciate a good summer reading list for kids to keep them active with reading, and to keep their minds stimulated.
The problem with Westland’s summer required reading list is that there was only one book on it – their “anchor text” – a prerequisite for middle school, essentially. The book is Rick by Alex Gino.
Buckle up while I give you the book summary.
Rick is about a 12 year old boy (so far so good) being “encouraged to question his sexual orientation” (uh-oh here we go). It’s also about a kid who goes through a “gender transition.” And it’s also about a kid who dances as a drag queen at a cabaret. The main character, Rick, attends an after school club for “LGBTQIAP+ rights” and decides, naturally, that he must be asexual. Because of course a 12 year old would think that after attending a club like that. The club also suggests to Rick that he think about whether or not he’s gay, and to decide on his pronouns.
It gets better. Rick’s grandpa confesses to TWELVE YEAR OLD RICK that he’s a crossdresser and then takes him to an event WHILE he’s crossdressing.
Wanna take a guess as to what the author of this garbage looks like? Check out the photo on his website. I guarantee you what you’ve pictured in your brain just based on the book synopsis is 100% dead-on.
And here’s his Twitter bio description:

What the Actual EFF is ANY middle school thinking when they subject kids to the garbage psychotic ideology of people like Alex Gino?
Think about all of the literary classics this idiotic middle school could have chosen as “anchor text” or required reading. They could have chosen The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, or The Call of the Wild, or The Chronicles of Narnia, or Anne of Green Gables, or Lord of the Flies or LITERALLY ANY NORMAL CLASSIC. But nope – they had to get woke and genderbendy and freaking groomer-y.
Check out the full description of this nonsense on the school’s website right here.
“Each summer Westland students and staff read an anchor text and explore important themes raised by the author. This year’s book is Rick by Alex Gino and we think you will love the exploration of self-expression and exploring your own identity through the eyes of Rick! Gino’s book will enable us to explore gender identity, self-expression, friendships, and learn the importance of standing up for one another.“
This particular middle school isn’t the only American school to recommend the book Rick. Other schools in MD have also made the recommendation, and at least one other in Massachusetts has as well. And kids weren’t just required to read it, they also have a post-reading assignment to complete in which they answer questions about how they define gender, what gender means to them, what their first memories are thinking about their own gender, etc.
Meanwhile, other countries are absolutely kicking our collective a$$ular area in subjects that kids ACTUALLY NEED TO LEARN – like math, reading, science, etc.
Public schools are a total scourge on American society right now – and they’re doing not much more than teaching our kids to be useful idiots for a completely corrupt government.

Jeepers, creepers, look at those peepers! He looks as psychotic as he’s perverse.
Yeah it’s an “anchor text” alright. An anchor designed to be tied round young impressionable kids necks and drown them in the ocean of toxic secular socialism. My kid wouldn’t be reading it.
What why are they reading anything? My 9-year-old grandson is home schooled. He was given Tom Sawyer as a reading assignment. So far so good.
This is where it appears to have started going off the rails. He was left with me because I work at home. (You really have to wonder what is wrong with these people. I mean my wife bought me a tee shirt that says, “In my defense, I was left unsupervised.” So, they do know.) He showed me the book. He tried to tell me he could just read it later. Being the responsible one, I explained how reading was old fashion. I pulled up Roku on the TV and the Tom Sawyer movie for him to watch instead of wasting his time reading, when he could be playing video games. He watched the movie, while eating Reese’s Peanut Butter cups and ice cream. I am not completely lost; I did feed him breakfast.
When grandma got home and found out, somehow, she made it look like it was my fault again.
I think most grandpas are the same. Why should grandkids have to do anything they don’t want to when it cuts into playtime with Grandpa? And oh, what memories you’re making.
How do math scores for children in the U.S. compare to other developed nations? They suck.
How do science scores for children in the U.S. compare to other developed nations? They suck.
How do reading scores for children in the U.S. compare to other developed nations? They suck.
This, after they’ve lowered the bar numerous times.
This is all our government schools have left to teach. When you can’t teach school kids the basics they need to compete in a global economy you fall back on teaching them your perversions.
If at all possible, get your children out of the government schools. And keep a wary eye on the alternative schools too.
Guess whose children would be getting zeroes for anything related to that politically motivated, social justice warrior, virtue signaling, brain damaged garbage.
The firewall at work blocked the author’s website. So hmm… if it’s not appropriate to view on a company computer, I’d guess it’s probably not fit for my incoming 6th grader either!

This is the goal Mock that has just ramped up because people have become so complacent. The goal is to indoctrinate these young minds into the left ideology. They can’t do that if parents keep apprised of what their children are learning, which mostly comes from a strong nuclear family. Destroy the family, gain access to the students, indoctrinate them to your ways and you have a plebeian army that has no idea how to think critically and not question “the authority”. It has taken generations but we are finally there.
