Democrats keep using this word, “dangerous. . .” I don’t think it means what they think it means.
The way Liz Cheney (I said what I said) uses it, it’s basically a synonym for “not helpful to the leftist agenda.” In an interview with the New York Times, she claimed she “could support” a Republican candidate for president, but that “Ron DeSantis has lined himself up almost entirely with Donald Trump, and [she thinks] that’s very dangerous.”
Give. Me. A. Flippin’. Break.
I mean, good Lord, are we still pretending that Trump wrecked America? Because I think it’s pretty patently clear (to anyone who listens to a news source other than CNN and/or MSNBC exclusively) that the only reason sh*t hit the fan under 45’s presidency was because liberals Literally Could Not, Democrats spent their entire tenure lying and scheming to bring him down, and a lab in Wuhan practiced dangerous gain-of-function research with crappy security protocols.
What Trump ACTUALLY did was oversee a period of economic growth (with exceptions made for COVID, obviously, because what the hell was that all about even). Whatever catastrophe he was supposed to bring upon us all, the leftists took care of for him; it’s really not the burn Dems think it is to say someone is aligned with Trump.
People have been coming after DeSantis for ages for being “dangerous” and “radical” and whatever the heck else, but as someone who’s enjoyed living under his governorship for a few years now, I can wholeheartedly say they are correct. DeSantis is DANGEROUS to anti-freedom legislators who want to curtail individual freedoms. He is RADICALLY pro-liberty, to the point where this crazy guy won’t even make people wear masks if they don’t want to. He’s an EXTREME supporter of parental rights, children’s safety, and anyone who’s trying to work their way to a better tomorrow.
But I wouldn’t expect a RINO like Liz Cheney to appreciate the value in DeSantis’s politics. Frankly, the fact that she would “find it very difficult” to support him in a presidential bid tells me he’s doing something right– if I hadn’t been living that reality already.

When you are sensitive liberal, EVERYTHING is dangerous 🙄
This hosebeast is one to talk about someone being dangerous!
>are we still pretending that Trump wrecked America?

And trillions in spending that we don’t have. Trump was President while some great things happened, he was also President when horrible things happened, and every thing in between. Luckily the good outweighed the bad, but let’s not fall into blind loyalty we all make fun of the Democrats for.
I chose my words very carefully. 🙂 He gets some credit, but some of the upward trends were happening anyway and, to your point, he spent a lot of money– dare I say, too much. (The first stimulus checks didn’t come from Biden, remember.)
‘Not sure which one of you to respond to on this thread, so I apologize in advance for any offense. To imply Trump’s economic success was built on Obama’s pitiful recovery efforts is less-than-accurate. Many of the things “45” did that increased our prosperity were subtle yet very positive. Del Walmsley, a multi-millionaire real estate developer and financial expert said the average American will never understand how well Trump finessed the US economy to grow. Most every economic measure consistently out-performed during Trump’s tenure (and under-performed during Obama’s). Consumer and business optimism started improving the day after Trump was elected. So far, Biden’s disastrous policies have more than eliminated wage gains made in the previous administration far beyond any stimulus checks from Trump. But then, maybe that’s too much “blind loyalty” from me.
I think both Rachel and Mike are acknowledging that Trump did a lot of good for the economy. They are just (rightly, I think) concerned that we don’t fall into the rut of assuming that everything he did was good. He did spend a LOT of money, which is something conservatives rail against (because the government has negative trillions to spend right now). It’s important to give him credit for the many good things he did while still being willing to point out that, from a conservative standpoint at least, he messed some things up.
I agree with you for the most part. Also I should’ve mentioned that the actual article Rachel wrote was excellent reading… and 100% spot-on, so… my bad for not saying that up front.
Minimizing Trump’s economic accomplishments is a common sleight repeated all too often by the left to boost Obama’s poor economic legacy by contrast. After his election in 2008, all BHO had to do was get out of the way and let the economy recover, and he couldn’t even do that. Miniscule growth numbers near the end of Obama’s term were in spite of policies, not created by them.
Yep.
I can’t reply to your second comment so I’m doing it here.
You’ve been around too long to write that about my comment.
As usual, you are correct. Excuse my faulty wordsmithing trying to make a point directed at people not on this board. Where did all the trolls go anyway?
>Where did all the trolls go anyway?
Mock broke out the ban hammer on at least one after the commenting switch.
Off topic, can anyone reply past the fourth comment into a back and forth? Because I am not even seeing the “reply” button.
I think the reply feature should allow up to 10 comments in a thread (which is the wordpress max) now. Just switched that on. Still working on a “like” or “thumbs up” feature but we’re also working on some other higher priority functional issues first!
