The world is getting just so completely stupid.
Look at this tweet from the NYC Health Commissioner. It’s legit.

I’m not gonna lie – I LOVE the word “monkeypox.” It’s super fun to say, even though it’s a nasty disease. Basically any word with monkey in it – I love it.
But that’s neither here nor there. You gotta read this letter, you guys.

Let’s just see if I’ve got this right. Dr. Vasan is worried that “vulnerable communities” may be stigmatized by the name of a disease because the word monkey is “rooted in racism?” IS HE FREAKING SERIOUS?
Isn’t it actually super racist to even ASSOCIATE the name of this virus with minorities? Like – that hadn’t even occurred to me until I read this clown’s letter.
This is just one of a zillion examples of leftists trying to fix non-existent problems and making everything a zillion times worse in the process.
Of all the things that NYC has to worry about, the NAME OF THE FREAKING VIRUS shouldn’t be one of them. Holy crap. This is the kind of sh*t that you KNOW China is watching from afar and just mocking the United States relentlessly, and who can blame them?

This it the dumbest thing in a long time.
It is the disease and its form of spreading that is….unfortunate. Not the name. There were endless rumors about how AIDS started. The most popular that I ran into was the “elites” own fault: it came fully out at the same time that they tried to make it sound normal to want sex with dead people. So, a lot of people decided THAT was where the disease came from…and that illness also could be gotten only through certain ways, so they picked one where it would be a reasonable punishment.
As long as you can fuss long term about the name, its not that serious of a problem for the general public.
Well, I’m triggered by the term “white supremacy”. I feel stigmatized. It harkens back to a time when white DEMOCRAT Sen. Robert Byrd was a Grand Dragon of the KKK. And later became a mentor to Hillary Clinton. We need to discontinue use of this term. It’s harmful to our young children who aren’t people of color, and are stigmatized by it.
He wasn’t a Grand Dragon (leader), I think he was just an Exalted Cyclops (recruiter).
Just when you think the world can’t get any dumber, someone steps up asking you to hold their beer.
So sick of it…with rare exception, my take is if you’re offended, fine, be offended.
It’s a choice to be offended. If you want someone else to have that much power over you, go ahead, let them.
So many morons…monkeypox is racist…what stupidity.
Summed-up beautifully. It’s a shame we don’t have a “thumbs up” button anymore.
Exactly.
