NPR is such utter trash.
If you haven’t heard, former Japanese PM Shinzo Abe was assassinated by a psychotic dude who shot him with a handmade shotgun. This was NPR’s initial tweet about it.

A “divisive arch-conservative,” they called him. What the actual eff.
They deleted it without explanation, only to replace it with this:

So they went from “divisive arch-conservative” to “ultranationalist.” And notice they couldn’t even bear to use the term “assassinated” because. . . who knows? It doesn’t occur to NPR, apparently, that in doing the job of journalism, only facts are necessary– not pointless opinion and made-up descriptions. For example, they could have simply said something like, “Shinzo Abe, the longest serving former Japanese prime minister was assassinated at a campaign rally on Friday.” Why not go with a simple, factual, old-school journalism kind of headline?
Let’s take a look at how they announced the death of Fidel Castro just for funsies, shall we?

See? That’s factual. There’s no commentary. Unless, of course, you count how they described Castro in their article.

CAN YOU EVEN WITH THIS CRAP.
I mean, this is WaPo level stuff. Remember when WaPo called that ISIS leader al-Baghdadi who was killed during Trump’s administration “an austere religious scholar?” These people are just such blatant, sinister propaganda artists.
The difference here, though, is that we taxpayers freaking FUND NPR.
UGH.

Was the GIF of Reggie (formerly of Nintendo) chosen on the thumbnail on purpose or was it a happy accident? Either way, I like it.
