In a politically convenient “accident” that proves exactly why California should never be emulated by any state in this country, and also why a national gun registry is a terrible idea, the California Attorney General’s Office just doxxed all of California’s gun owners with concealed carry permits. Instead of releasing a website with gun safety information, as they claim they intended, the California AG’s office “released a portal with names, birthdays, and home addresses of every concealed carry weapons holder in the state.”
Specifically, the leak included “the person’s full name, race, home address, date of birth, and date their permit was issued,” in addition to “the type of permit issued, indicating if the permit holder is a member of law enforcement or a judge.” The state’s database for dealer records of sales and the registry of “assault weapons” was likewise leaked.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office made a public statement admitting that officials don’t know how long the flood of highly sensitive personal information was available to the public, nor how much of it may have been collected and posted to social media, but says the State Attorney General’s Office “plans to contact CCW [concealed carry weapon] holders directly to advise them of the breach and will institute a program to reduce any harm or damages to CCW holders that resulted from the breach.”
First they “accidentally” release extremely sensitive personal information that “includes, but is not limited to a person’s name, age, address, Criminal Identification Index (CII) number and license type,” which is practically inviting extreme leftist anti-gun activists to take action against legal gun owners in a political statement against guns. Then they’re like, “Whoops, our bad, we’ll definitely work to reduce any harm we caused by ‘accidentally’ doxxing you over an extremely controversial topic in this super politically charged social climate.” At the very least, it’s horrifying and dangerous negligence, and at most, it’s intentional and targeted activism. Either way, California voters and voters nation wide should take note and vote accordingly.

Bonta has yet to resign or withdraw from election this November. Guess the buck doesn’t stop with him
It’s CA – never gonna convince me it was accidental.
Worst part is, if anyone is attacked over it and they defend themselves accordingly, they’ll be charged with a heinous crime.
However, if they were an illegal who fired off a gun and killed someone on purposident…well…
