Ghislaine Maxwell Put on Suicide Watch

Ghislaine Maxwell, the erstwhile queen of King Child Rapist Jeffrey Epstein himself, has been placed on suicide watch pending her sentencing, despite claims that she is not, in fact, suicidal.

Whoa. Anyone else getting this strange sense of déjà vu?

In a request to the presiding Judge, Maxwell’s attorneys wrote,

“Yesterday, without having conducted a psychological evaluation and without justification, the MDC placed Ms. Maxwell on suicide watch.

“She is not permitted to possess and review legal documents and is not permitted paper or pen. This has prevented her from preparing for sentencing.”

. . .

“This morning, a psychologist evaluated Ms. Maxwell and determined she is not suicidal.”

So ostensibly the goal is to put Maxwell in an unfavorable position ahead of her sentencing, although in my (admittedly limited) understanding of the law, I’m not sure what preparation she can be expected to do. Practice saying “I still didn’t do it” in the mirror?

Maxwell was originally meant to be sentenced on June 28th, but that date may be postponed:

“Currently, she is unable to properly prepare for sentencing. If Ms. Maxwell remains on suicide watch, is prohibited from reviewing legal materials prior to sentencing, becomes sleep-deprived, and is denied sufficient time to meet with and confer with counsel, we will be formally moving on Monday for an adjournment.”

Can we all just admit that this whole “preparing for sentencing” thing is just a cover? I think we all know that powerful people with a lot to lose pulled some strings to put Maxwell in solitary confinement, because we all know what happens to serial sex traffickers in solitary. Maxwell and her attorneys want her literally anywhere but in solitary confinement on suicide watch, because we all know what happens to serial sex traffickers in solitary.

I kid, of course! We all know that the conditions surrounding Jeffrey Epstein’s death were totally normal and consistent with protocol! You’d have to be crazy to think that Epstein killed himself!! Right guys? Right??

I’m just saying, Ghislaine might want to get her house in order. And maybe let the world know very decisively and very publicly that she’s not planning any suicidal actions. Like, yesterday.
