Daisy talked about this a little in our video livestream today – the fact that there used to be a whole lot more adults who were willing to run TOWARD trouble instead of cowering away from it.  And then I saw this thread, which offers a unique take on how Covid culture may have played a part:

So much of our culture/society has been totally infantilized, which of course, to Ann Bauer’s point, puts Actual Infants/Children at risk.  What happens when there are no adults in the room? What happens when no grown-ups are willing to face risks to protect the lives of kids?

I’m afraid that we saw exactly what happens in Uvalde.

What we need now, more than ever, are more people like Jacob Albarado.  We need adults willing to run toward the trouble.
