The FBI investigated something other than concerned conservative moms and fake Russian dossiers, and they found real public and political corruption. It’s a huge, and not particularly surprising, mess involving Anaheim public officials, political consultants, and Disneyland executives.
Affidavits and voice recordings show that Disneyland Resort Director of External Affairs Carrie Nocella worked with an unnamed political consultant (matching the description of one Jeff Flint, chief executive and senior partner at FSB Public Affairs), and Todd Ament, the head of the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce. These individuals handpicked elected City Council members, as well as other influential local power players, to attend a special “retreat,” where they would then pressure them into making decisions preferred by Disneyland. Ament explained their game plan for the elected officials chosen for the retreat,
“We tell [them], we got you reelected, we expect you to be a loyal member of the team.”
The self-described “cabal” of public officials, political consultants, and Disneyland employees had their reservations about essentially coercing elected officials. Ament was recorded saying,
“For me, we know [him] this much right. So if we take him into the cabal and he’s playing double-agent, then we are all screwed.”
FBI special agent Brian Adkins explained in an affidavit seeking a federal warrant targeting Mayor Harry Sidhu that the city of Anaheim is “tightly controlled by a small cadre of individuals,” including Sidhu. Adkin further explained that the corrupt parties involved “had defined a specific, covert group of individuals that wielded significant influence over the inner workings of Anaheim’s Government.”
Imagine what they’d find if the FBI cared to investigate the cabal controlling and manipulating the nation. But they’d rather spend their resources chasing down fake Russian dossiers and outspoken moms at school board meetings. Because, priorities.
