This video is from a year ago, but I saw it this past weekend at a Precinct Chair workshop here in Texas, and it – along with some other videos – got me all fired up (more than usual). I love it SO SO SO MUCH.
Think about this stuff lately? About the founding of the Republican Party? About why YOU’RE a Republican? A conservative? Have you told your liberal friend why you’re conservative lately? Or have you kept it quiet, because you just didn’t feel like talking about it.
Politics is messy. It’s definitely a divisive thing these days. But especially now more than ever, it’s necessary for you – as a conservative – to believe in yourself and your conservative/Republican values. It’s necessary for you to wear your politics on your sleeve. You simply can’t be a wallflower and expect other people to fight the battle that we have in front of us. You just can’t. You should be expressing your conservatism in your everyday life – at your dinner table, in your neighborhoods and beyond. You don’t have to get in anyone’s face, mind you. You just have to calmly understand and then project what you believe in. It’s all about values, right? And it’s imperative as conservatives that we not shy away from what we believe in, because Democrats have been winning at the culture war for EONS.
It’s like I tell my daughter – NEVER let anyone else define who you are. Ever.
