I’m sure there are a lot of folks who are really good at this job. Which is cool, because there are people who genuinely need fixing in this world. But there are some people who have ZERO business trying to tell people how to live their lives.
Case in point:

I suppose you could say someone is “fat-phobic” if they want to lose weight. Or better yet, maybe you could say that someone is just “heart-attack-phobic,” or “diabetes-phobic” or “stroke-phobic” or “can’t-see-my-toes-phobic.” I like all of those alternatives better.
Because obesity – or even 20 or 30 pounds of excess fat hanging out on your organs = causes all sorts of problems. There’s data to back that up, and if she was a true health professional, she would’ve taken the time to figure that out. If she’s LICENSED, it’s unethical to tell an obese patient that losing weight is freaking “fat-phobic” should that individual want to improve his or her health. Doing so could improve that individual’s MENTAL health as well. Becoming more fit and active usually does. There’s also data to back that up as well.
Hell, even Elle Woods knows this:
How on earth do these people get licensed to do ANYTHING?
Good Lord.
