WHAT. A. DAY.
Today was my final day on the Mock ‘n Rob show. It’s been an amazing 8 and a half years of radio – the first 7 and a half with Daisy and this last year with Rob. But it’s time for the Chicks to be 100% full time Chicks, and we are so stoked to get started on that new adventure next week! If you missed that announcement, here are all the details.
I got spoiled rotten today – starting with the fact that my husband drove me to work today and then watched the show live, knowing that there was a possibility I’d be given shots by Jason Hammer from the Hammer and Nigel show (I was), and also knowing that I’d have a pretty good pile of stuff to carry out after the show. I’ve been moving things out of the office little by little, but there was still a bunch of stuff I needed to pack up and carry out. Add to that the fact that one of WIBC’s most loyal supporters, Ginny from Relay Indiana, brought me an ENTIRE CAKE from The Cake Bake Shop. YOU GUYS. If you’ve never had the joyful experience of having a bite of ANY cake from that place, let me just tell you – it will change your life. LOOK A THE SIZE OF THIS THING.

One of our FB insiders also sent tons of donuts and other delicious treats, and basically starting Nutrisystem this week was the dumbest idea I’ve ever had ever. I will be back to 100% sticking to it starting Sunday, so if you’re one of the folks who’ve decided to take the Nutrisystem plunge with us, no worries. I’m gonna be right back there with you starting Sunday.
ANYWAY.
Rob put together the lineup for the show today, which included my most favorite bit of radio that I’ve ever been a part of ever – the now infamous Eddie Are You Walking radio segment that Daisy and I did when we were on the air together and Rob was our producer. If you’ve never heard it, no worries. It’s right here.
We did a couple of segments while simultaneously livestreaming to our FB page. One segment that we livestreamed today is the daily segment we did with Jason Hammer, who brought the beverages today. You can watch right here:
We also livestreamed my farewell segment:
And you guys, I totally held it together through the entire show just fine, until the very end. That was the segment that Rob saved to read his farewell message to me. And that’s what ultimately started the waterworks. Listen right here:
I’m not gonna lie – it feels a little surreal thinking that I won’t be returning regularly to the radio station. I’m not going to miss the drive AT ALL, but radio is an absolute blast, and I loved the people I worked with. And I’ll definitely miss seeing Rob every day (and Jacob too!)
But it’s time for me and Daisy to get busy getting back to all the Chicks business! If you’re a regular livestreamer of our videos on weekday mornings, don’t forget that next week’s videos will be at 7.30am ET! And then we’ll try a later morning time the week after that. We’re super interested in looking at how many of y’all are able to join live at different times.
See ya Monday morning!
