In an effort to curb the ever-increasing crisis at the southern border, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has shut down six ports of entry from Mexico, according to The Daily Wire.
Governor Abbott’s statements of action take place after several exhibits of photo and video footage have been circulating the internet.
Law enforcement source on the ground at the bridge this morning just sent me this video showing the situation there. I’m told a large majority of the migrants are Haitians and more are crossing into the US and arriving at the bridge by the minute. BP w/ limited manpower @FoxNews pic.twitter.com/dHWCrhFikq

According to The Daily Wire, Governor Abbott stated:
“The border crisis is so dire that the U.S. Customs and Border Protection is requesting our help as their agents are overwhelmed by the chaos. Unlike President Biden, the State of Texas remains committed to securing our border and protecting Americans,” Abbott continued.
“Six hours after U.S. Customs and Border Protection requested help from Texas to close ports of entry and secure the border, the Biden Administration has now flip-flopped to a different strategy that abandons border security and instead makes it easier for people to cross illegally and for cartels to exploit the border,” Abbott said in another statement Thursday.
“The Biden Administration is in complete disarray and is handling the border crisis as badly as the evacuation from Afghanistan. I have directed the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas National Guard to maintain their presence at and around ports of entry to deter crossings.”
Comparing between August of 2020 and August of this year, illegal immigration has increased by over 300%. Then, with the chaos occurring in Afghanistan (which is yet another Biden epic fail), the illegal immigration crisis has been pushed to the backburner.

President Joe Biden attempted to completely do away with former President Donald Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” policy soon after taking over office, in which the Supreme Court has ordered that the policy be reinstated by the Biden Administration.
While we have yet to hear much commentary from the Biden Administration regarding the border crisis, governors, such as Abbott, continue to fight the good fight.
