Woke Progressive Mob Now Targets Pepe Le Pew And Speedy Gonzales

Following the targeting of iconic children’s book author Dr. Seuss, it seems only necessary for the woke progressive mob to target cartoons. You know, considering there’s really nothing more important going on in our country right now than scrubbing old school children’s entertainment.

First up was Pepe Le Pew, the Looney Tunes skunk. A New York Times columnist, Charles M. Blow, argued that the Pepe Le Pew character “normalized rape culture.”

And listen, I’m inclined to agree with him on this. He was aggressive, horny, grabby, forcibly kissed and sniffed, held onto, and prevented the woman from walking away from him. Not the kind of things I want my sons seeing and learning.

But guess what. I literally just described the behavior of both Joe Biden and Andrew Cuomo. Sniffing women and girls. Kissing women and girls. Grabbing women and girls. So why exactly are these people freaking out about a cartoon skunk and not real political figures in high-visibility and influential leadership positions?

There had better not be a single person calling for the canceling of Pepe Le Pew without also calling for the cancelling of Joe Biden and Andrew Cuomo because the behavior that is getting Pepe cancelled could reasonably be likened to a Cuomo or Biden impersonation.

Next up is Speedy Gonzales, who columnist Charles Blow says “popularized the corrosive stereotype of the drunk and lethargic Mexicans.” Well, Mexicans, and Latinos generally, don’t seem agree. Comedian Gabriel Iglesias defended Speedy Gonzales saying, “I am the voice of Speedy Gonzales in the new Space Jam. Does this mean they are gonna try to cancel Fluffy too? U can’t catch me cancel culture. I’m the fastest mouse in all of Mexico.” Fluffy is Iglesias’ nickname, so he was essentially asking if the cancel culture mob would try to come after him for being the voice actor for the newly offending character.

And Iglesias wasn’t the only one who had something to say about it.

As a Latino, I can state that we are not offended by Speedy Gonzales. He is a cultural icon and must be protected at all costs.
