I haven’t been writing much. I was sick with the Rona and I’m not ashamed to say that I turned into a moody, pouty shell of an adult. My husband, who GAVE ME THIS RONA and laid on the couch for two days with his Chernobyl-enforced Russian body only to wake up looking refreshed, will occasionally ask me, “How are you feeling?” To which I reply, in the voice of a teenaged boy, “hOw ArE yOu FeElInG?” and roll back over into my favorite fuzzy blanket. That’s what’s going on over here. The only evidence of my maturity is my liberal use of the word c*** in my complaints, and that’s because I’m reasonably certain that only adults use the C-word these days.
In an effort to quell my childish pouting, my husband put on Uncle Tom, the documentary led by Larry Elder.
I went from pouty to pissed. If you haven’t watched it yet this will not ruin it for you. In fact, I hope it spurs you to watch it and invite some liberal friends into the experience with you.
As a black woman who found her way to conservatism through a long process of research most of the information was already known to me. Still, to see it all in one place was really astounding. The film was so poignant it was easy to see why liberals downplayed its message and tried to limit its reach.
As the target audience of the progressive movement, I have a bit of pity for other blacks who’ve fallen prey to the false claims and empty promises of the leftist ideology. Though it frustrates me to see it working, the system is designed to elicit an emotional response and subsequent complicity.
For progressive whites who promote the policies that hurt the black community, I feel a bit of anger brewing. Maybe it’s the Rona talking, or all the stupid calls for “unity” in the past month. Or maybe it was all the Antifa and BLM rioters who rode buses into poorer neighborhoods, burned them down, and then were bailed out of jail by Hollywood elites and politicians. Yeah, it could definitely be a little bit of that.
It’s past time for conservatives to call out policies that are harmful to our country or to subsets of the population. How many of us know that mandatory minimum wages were pushed by Democrats in order to keep blacks out of the work force a hundred years ago, but now we’re watching them shout the virtues of the same policies without calling them out on it? How many of us know that the founder of Planned Parenthood supported the forced sterilization of black women, and we don’t ask our pro-choice friends to explain why the majority of Planned Parenthood Clinics are in minority neighborhoods? Why don’t we ask them to explain why blacks are the only minority group not set to grow in population over the next decade, but their policies are advocating for more abortions and less families?
It’s time for conservatives to be on the offensive in the political debate, and to do that we need knowledge. Dust off those old books, pop open YouTube or Rumble, and get on your social media to post some facts. Democrats don’t hold the moral high ground with their policies, that’s why they like to keep us silent and their allies compliant. It’s time for us to get loud. Go watch Uncle Tom (I found it on Prime) and you’ll see exactly why they try to shut down logical conversations.
