Goya Foods has named Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as their employee of the month after her de-facto call to boycott their products backfired big time!
After Goya Foods CEO Bob Unanue tweeted positively about his meeting with President Trump, AOC mouthed off about making her own Adobo. In essence, she was stating her intent to boycott Goya Foods.
Oh look, it’s the sound of me Googling “how to make your own Adobo” https://t.co/YOScAcyAnC

Goya Food sales rose after AOC’s tweets. These days, boycotts more often than not seem to have the opposite of their intended effective. Prime example…Chick-Fil-A.
Goya Foods and president CEO Bob Unanue revealed that after Rep. Alexandria Cortez (D-NY) echoed a call for a boycott of Goya products back in July because Unanue supported President Trump, his company named her “Employee of the Month” because sales rose so dramatically.
Unanue had visited the White House, where he stated, “We’re all truly blessed at the same time to have a leader like President Trump, who is a builder.”
Now that AOC is being mocked for her “boycott” leading to an explosion of Goya sales and her being named employee of the month, she is denying that she ever called for a boycott. Technically she is right. But, the spirit of her tweet was 100% calling for a boycott.
No, I just googled how to make my own adobo.
But of course Fox would rather indulge their made up fantasies than acknowledge that in the Trump admin’s catastrophic response to COVID, millions of people rushed to buy canned goods which then had to be rationed at grocery stores 🤔 https://t.co/qLHVNn5iJK

Newsweek also reported on the story with this headline: After AOC Calls for Boycott of Pro-Trump GOYA, Sales Skyrocket and CEO Names Her ‘Employee of the Month’. Funny that AOC only attacks Fox News for their headlines with every new organization, including liberal Newsweek, is running with a similar headline.
It’s interesting that AOC was one of the first people to step in line to boycott Goya. To go against her own people, as supposedly a Puerto Rican woman, to go against people of her own Latin culture,” Unanue said. “To some extent I can understand AOC. She’s young, she’s naïve, she doesn’t get it. But you’ve got someone like [Senator Bernie] Sanders, who’s older than us … other than me, who still doesn’t get it.
She was actually our employee of the month … when she boycotted us, our sales actually increased 1,000 percent,” Unanue added. “We never were able to hand it to her, but she got employee of the month for bringing attention to GOYA and our adobo. Actually, our sales of adobo did very well after she said, ‘make your own adobo’ … she’s our hero, she helped boost sales tremendously.”
Congratulation to AOC on her achievement as employee of the month! Come to think of it, this is her first real accomplishment since she was elected to Congress.
