Disturbing Video Captures the Moment A Mom Is Tasered, Arrested After Refusing To Wear a Mask at Kid’s Football Game

We have officially lost our minds people. A mom trying to watch her son’s middle school football game was arrested and TASED for refusing to wear a mask.

An Ohio woman was tasered and forcibly removed from a middle school football game on Wednesday evening after refusing to wear a face mask.

A video of the incident, which garnered over 440,000 views on Facebook, shows school resource officer Chris Smith in a heated exchange with a fan in the stands of Logan High School Stadium.

Smith reportedly asked the woman to wear a face mask, but she refused claiming she has asthma, according to a statement from the Logan Police Department.

The Logan Police Department issued a press release in response to the incident.

On September 23rd at approximately 5:30 P.M. School Resource Officer Chris Smith was working a special duty detail at the Logan High School Stadium for the 7th and 8th grade football games. The special duty assignment was requested by the Logan Hocking School District to help ensure the safety of the fans and athletes during their inside and outside sporting events.

One of the duties of the assignment is to ensure fans and are complying with CDC, Ohio Health Department, Ohio Athletic Association and Logan Hocking School District policy rules and guidelines. One of these policy guidelines mandated by the Logan Hocking School District is that all spectators must wear a mask while on school property.

Officer Smith was walking in the stadium and observed a female sitting in the stands without a mask, he approached the female and advised her she needed to put her mask on as required by the school policy. The female advised that she had asthma and was not going to put it on. Officer Smith advised the female several times that she needed to put her mask on, and that if she did not, she would be asked to leave and would have wait outside the stadium. The female continually refused his request and Officer Smith advised her that if she refused to leave, she would be cited for trespassing and escorted off the property.

After several attempts to get her to leave, Officer Smith advised her she was under arrest for criminal trespassing and asked her to place her hands behind her back multiple times and she refused. Officer Smith attempted to place her hand behind her back, the female began resisting by pulling away from the Officer and another female began interfering with the arrest. Officer Smith advised her to comply or he would deploy his Taser if she did not quit resisting. She continued to resist, and Officer Smith placed his Taser on her shoulder area and drive stunned her once. He was able to successfully handcuff the female at that time.

This is crazy. Thank God the town I live in and many of the sheriffs’ departments throughout the state of Indiana have said they are not and will not be the mask police.

The woman was OUTSIDE in a stadium that was sparsely filled. There was no reason to tell her she needed to wear a mask. Even Governor DeWine’s mask mandate exempts people with health conditions and those outside who are socially distanced. But thank you Governor DeWine for having a ridiculous mask mandate that causes this type of craziness. DeWine was deservedly booed at Trump’s Ohio rally last week.

Of course, there is this small part of me that feels like she should’ve just put on the stupid mask. But then, I think, dammit, this is America and we need people to stand up to this madness. God bless her!

God love the police, but this officer handled this whole situation very poorly. It’s too bad this woman wasn’t just looting or burning down a building as part of a BLM protest. She probably would have been treated much less severely.

The statement from police claims the woman was not arrested or tased because she was not wearing a mask.

It is important to note, the female was not arrested for failing to wear a mask, she was asked to leave the premises for continually violating school policy. Once she refused to leave the premises, she was advised she was under arrest for criminal trespassing, she resisted the arrest, which led to the use of force.

Well, if she had a mask on, she would not have been asked to leave. So, YES, it was ALL ABOUT THE MASK!
