On Thursday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stated that she doesn’t think President Donald Trump is “worth the trouble” of another impeachment attempt since “we have 40 days until the election.”
…I’m straight-facing so hard right now.
It couldn’t possibly be because she is already receiving threats about being removed from her position if she tried impeaching President Trump over his SCOTUS nominee, right?
I mean, that was a nice attempt to save face, Nance, but let’s just humble ourselves and admit that you don’t stand a chance and would inevitably lose your position if you tried another ridiculous sham.
Breitbart reported Pelosi’s words:
“I don’t think he’s worth the trouble at this point, we have 40 days until the election,” Pelosi told reporters when asked if she will bring forth a censure resolution or try to impeach the president for a second time.
“It’s no use orchestrating one thing or another when what really matters in terms of the peaceful transfer of power is that people vote.”
These words are rather laughable, considering the stark shift in tone from what she was just expressing a few days ago regarding impeachment charges while interviewing with ABC News’ This Week –
“We have our options,” she told host George Stephanopoulos. “This president has threatened to not even accept the results of the election with statements that he and his henchmen have made.
“Right now, our main goal — and I think Ruth Bader Ginsburg would want that to be to protect the integrity of the election — that we protect the American people from the coronavirus.”
Pelosi suggested that “we have arrows in our quiver” as a way of hinting at an already existing arsenal towards impeachment charges.
Not longer after, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, told reporters on Capitol Hill, “She may think she has a quiver – we do too.” McCarthy stated this in an effort to show that they are prepared to remove Pelosi as Speaker if she attempts impeachment pursuance.
“I will make you this one promise, listening to the speaker on television this weekend, if she tries to move for an impeachment based upon the president following the Constitution, I think there will be a move on the floor to no longer have the question of her being Speaker. She may think she has a quiver — we do too,” McCarthy told reporters on Capitol Hill.
