In a plot twist, a Hennepin County Medical Examiner has said that George Floyd had a “fatal level” of fentanyl in his system at the time of his death.

The report from the Hennepin County medical examiner released on Tuesday details his comments about the results of the toxicology test on Floyd.
“That is a fatal level of fentanyl under normal circumstances,” the report read.
However, the report reiterated the medical examiner’s opinion that there were a multitude of causes contributing to his death.
“[Dr. Andrew Baker] said that if Mr. Floyd had been found dead in his home (or anywhere else) and there were no other contributing factors he would conclude that it was an overdose death,” said the June 1 memo, according to KMSP-TV.
Officer Derek Chauvin stands charged with second-degree murder. Three other officers are charged with aiding and abetting. I don’t think that, based on the information I know and have seen about the case, I could convict Chauvin of second-degree murder. I don’t think he killed Floyd intentionally. After this medical examiner’s report, I’m not even convinced that Chauvin’s actions actually caused Floyd’s death!
We can all agree that Chauvin’s actions crossed the line. Floyd resisted arrest so the initial takedown and hold seem warranted in my opinion. However, the way Chauvin held Floyd down, on his neck, long after Floyd stopped resisting was wrong and reckless.
Does this change your opinion at all? Do you think the officers will be convicted?
God help America’s cities if Chauvin is not convicted. It will likely make the riots of this summer look like child’s play.
