Obviously, I couldn’t watch this entire thing because my ears start bleeding after about 2 minutes of listening to her voice. But if you want her red lip secrets, here you go:
According to the Vogue write-up, AOC “loves beauty” but also tries “not to have a full beat every day.”
STUNNING BRAVERY right there, y’all. Like – some days she chooses to “go in with a bare face, and other days when she wants to feel glam, she does glam.”
She claims that when she went from working in a restaurant to being on TV all the time, she “initially really struggled with that.”
PUH-LEEEZE. She’s one of the most attention-seeking people in Congress, and no one is forcing her to be on a zillion TV shows. She wants to be there, obvs.
And – this is important, y’all – SHE CONTOURS.
“I’m not trying to change my features or shape-shift—I’m just trying to accentuate my existing features. I’m not trying to make it look bigger. I’m not trying to make it look smaller.… I’m just trying to show people what I got.”
And lest you think she isn’t brave enough to use glitter, SHUT YO MOUTH.
“As the youngest woman in Congress—and as a woman of color—it’s so hard to be taken seriously.… I would think, Man, [glitter] isn’t going to help me out. People already try to diminish me and diminish my voice as young and frivolous and unintelligent. I tried the shimmer, and it looks fire!… It helps me feel better, and I feel like it helps make my eyes pop, so you know what? I was totally wrong.”
Aren’t you glad you know this?
You’re welcome.
Also, reeeeeeally looking forward to Vogue exploring Melania Trump’s skincare routine with the same level of interest. Should I hold my breath?
