Fox News is reporting that The National Organization of Police Organizations (NAPO) historically endorsed Trump yesterday for his reelection campaign.

Dear Mr. President,
On behalf of the National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO), I am very pleased to formally announce NAPO’s endorsement of your re-election campaign for President of the United States. Our endorsement recognizes your steadfast and very public support for our men and women on the front lines, especially during this time of unfair and inaccurate opprobrium being directed at our members by so many. We particularly value your directing the Attorney General to aggressively prosecute those who attack our officers, your signing into law the Law Enforcement Mental Health and Wellness Act, your advocacy and signing into law the legislation which permanently authorized funds to support 9/11 first responders and their families; your revitalization of the Project Safe Neighborhoods program to help reduce violent crime; and your unflagging recognition that America’s law enforcement officers, just like any other citizens, have Constitutional rights, too.
NAPO is a coalition of police unions and associations from across the United States that serves to advance the interests of America’s law enforcement through legislative and legal advocacy, political action, and education. Founded in 1978, NAPO now represents more than 1,000 police units and associations, and 241,000 sworn law enforcement officers, who share a common dedication to fair and effective crime control and law enforcement.
NAPO is pleased to support your re-election campaign for President, and we are confident of your continued strong support of America’s law enforcement community.
Sincerely,
Michael McHale
President
This is a significant endorsement gain for President Trump. NAPO supported President Obama and Vice President Biden in the 2008 and 2012 Presidential elections. NAPO refused to endorse Hillary or Trump in 2016, and the assumption was that the organization would support Biden in 2020.
Now that we have a media and Democrat-fueled race war between Marxist protestors (rioters) and police departments all over the nation and calling for the defunding of our cities’ police departments, both candidates were forced to chose aside.
Trump is running on a law and order platform. He wants to support our good police officers while holding the bad ones accountable. He wants to improve our police, not defund them.
Biden has emphatically said that he supports defunding the police departments. And as his leftist handlers have said multiple times: Defund means Dismantle.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist or an educator writing for a political website to understand why NAPO endorsed Trump and not Biden.
Why would democrats think it is smart to fire more than 800,000 law enforcement officers and even more essential support staff during a job-crushing pandemic? Surely they didn’t think these people would support them after losing their jobs.
Does anyone even believe defunding the police has anything to do with injustice anymore? The answer should be no. It’s all political.
Donald Trump was more than happy to accept the endorsement. He has more than earned it.
