Today, Dr. Anthony Fauci warned of a new virus in China that U.S. Health officials are actively monitoring, according to Breitbart.

He is always the bearer of bad news, isn’t he?

I seriously cannot even bear the thought of this. I’m instantly stressed to the max just thinking about this. A swine flu or 1918-like flu would likely impact children. The one saving grace of this whole COVID-19 pandemic has been that it doesn’t really affect children.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, testified Tuesday that an emerging virus found in pigs in China shares traits with the 2009 Swine Flu and 1918 Pandemic Flu, and U.S. public health officials are monitoring the disease.

Fauci, a White House coronavirus task force member, explained before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee that the virus — known as “G4 EA H1N1,” — doesn’t appear to infect humans, however, it has shown “reassortment capabilities.”

“In other words, when you get a brand new virus that turns out to be a pandemic virus it’s either due to mutations and/or the reassortment or exchanges of genes,” he stated. “And they’re seeing virus in swine, in pigs now, that have characteristics of the 2009 H1N1, of the original 1918, which many of our flu viruses have remnants of that in it, as well as segments from other hosts like swine.”

Fauci warned lawmakers of the “possibility that you might have another swine flu type outbreak as we had in 2009.”

“It’s something that still is in the stage of examination,” he added.

I’m just going to carry on with my life and assume there will be no “reassortment” and this new plague will not affect humans. My brain cannot take thinking anything else at this point.

I’m going to focus on the part of Fauci’s statement where he said this virus is not something that is an “immediate threat.” It’s just something we need to “keep our eye on.”

We really must take everything Fauci says with a grain of salt. This man has been all over the board through this whole COVID-19 crisis. On his advice and expert opinion, we shut down our schools, roaring economy, and quarantined the healthy for a virus that, at this time, has a death rate of around .26%.
