BREAKING: Democrats Cave On Funding For PPP, Senate Passes $484 Billion Coronavirus Deal After Weeks of Deadlock

It looks like all the bad press Pelosi and the Democrats have been getting finally worked.

The Republicans made only one concession (if you can even call it that) in the agreement made today.

They haven’t voted on it yet, but the bill is expected to pass the Senate today.

The bill is said to include:

• $60 Billion in New Small Business Association funding
• $30 Billion of that $60B will go to community development, minority-owned businesses, and small banks
• $50 Billion for the Small Business Association’s EIDL (Economic Injury Disaster Loan) Program
• $10 Billion for the Small Business Association’s EEIG (Emergency Economic Injury Grant) Program
• $75 Billion for Health Systems
• $25 Billion for increased COVID-19 testing

It just goes to show you that when Americans are paying attention, it makes it harder for the Democrats to continue their shady business.

We finally have a President that calls them out and holds them accountable.

Americans see this about Trump and made it clear we are not putting up with it anymore.

Congress and the Trump administration have reached a deal on a new round of coronavirus aid that could be approved by the Senate on Tuesday afternoon if all 100 senators agree.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) announced the accord just an hour before the Senate will try and pass the agreement and rapped Democrats for blocking a previous proposal to give money to small businesses.

“I am just sorry that it took my colleagues in Democratic leadership 12 days to accept the inevitable,” McConnell said. “The American people are counting on Congress to put aside reflexive partisanship and work across the aisle to help our nation through this pandemic.”

The legislation totals $484 billion and delivers funding to small businesses, hospitals, and for testing. The Senate is scheduled to come in for a 4 p.m. session on Tuesday. Leaders are seeking to have the legislation approved unanimously…

Democrats admitted defeat on their demands for $150 billion for states and local governments after McConnell and Mnuchin took a hard line against including that money. Schumer said he was “sorely disappointed” new food aid and more money requested by governors was not included in the package.

The Senate minority leader, along with Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D- Calif.) continued negotiating with Meadows and Mnuchin until early Tuesday.

The House, which is set to vote Thursday on the relief measure, will not be able to pass the legislation unanimously and lawmakers have been instructed to prepare to return to the Capitol this week.

Hoyer said members were not being forced to come back but he expected more than enough lawmakers to establish a quorum — 216 members — and clear the package via a roll call vote.

“We are asking every member to return who can return,” Hoyer told reporters during his weekly press call on Tuesday. “There are some members who are particularly vulnerable to either themselves because of some preexisting condition or they are caring for relatives … so we’re not ordering members to come back.”

We previously reported on the $1.4 trillion “Phase Three” stimulus package, which was opposed by the Democrats.

The GOP-controlled Senate failed to move forward accordingly. The stimulus package was intended to help families and businesses in need due to the economic downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Fox News:

Many Democrats had complained that the draft aid package did not go far enough to provide health care and unemployment aid for Americans, and failed to put restraints on a proposed $500 billion “slush fund” for corporations, saying the ban on corporate stock buy-backs are weak and the limits on executive pay would last only two years.

Democrats also pushed for add-ons including food security aid, small business loans and other measures for workers — saying the three months of unemployment insurance offered under the draft plan was insufficient…

“I want everybody to understand that if we aren’t able to act tomorrow, it’s because of our colleagues on the other side, continue to dicker.”

He then accused Pelosi of overstepping boundaries, saying: “She’s the speaker of the House, not the speaker of the Senate.”

McConnell said the Senate will hold a cloture vote again at a time of his choosing, adding, “hopefully some adults will show up on the other side of the room and understand the gravity of the situation before the markets go down further…we’ve never been confronted by anything like this before.”

The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) and Marco Rubio responded at the time:

The vote tonight was just a procedural vote to position us for quick action on #Covid-19 bill. Anyone who wanted changes still has leverage on the next vote. But it looks like at least for now Democrat’s are going to block it.
