CNN Host Confronts Trump Advisor Peter Navarro: “What Are Your Qualifications?”

According to Peter Navarro (a member of the WH coronavirus task force), FEMA has 29 million tablets sitting in a warehouse.

These tablets are available to immediately begin surging hydroxychloroquine into the hot zones around the country. This will be decided by a doctor and patient combo and have nothing to do with decisions by the federal government.

There are now numerous scientific studies that show very clearly that 80% in the control group did well with hydroxychloroquine.

Including this study out of Wuhan, China.

From the study:

“No difference in the age and sex distribution between the control group and the HCQ group. But for TTCR, the body temperature recovery time and the cough remission time were significantly shortened in the HCQ treatment group. Besides, a larger proportion of patients with improved pneumonia in the HCQ treatment group (80.6%, 25 of 32) compared with the control group (54.8%, 17 of 32). Notably, all 4 patients progressed to severe illness that occurred in the control group. However, there were 2 patients with mild adverse reactions in the HCQ treatment group. Significance: Among patients with COVID-19, the use of HCQ could significantly shorten TTCR and promote the absorption of pneumonia.”

With all this evidence suggesting that hydroxychloroquine can help these patients suffering from coronavirus, you begin to wonder why the mainstream media would be so quick to downplay its effectiveness.

Peter Navarro went on CNN to discuss the positive suggestions we are seeing from the quick studies revolving around hydroxychloroquine and its effectiveness in treating coronavirus patients. John Berman from CNN tried to argue with Navarro on his qualifications.

Berman: “So why is Dr. Anthony Fauci the lead infectious disease doctor in the country wrong about this in your opinion?”

Navarro: ” I’ll let him speak for himself, John, but I have two words for you “second” “opinion”.”

Navarro continues to say that studies that already exist show “preliminary therapeutics.” This means that this drug is showing early signs that it will help heal.

Berman interrupts Navarro to ask why we should trust Navarro over Dr. Fauci and suggested that Navarro does not have the qualifications to suggest the American people get a second opinion.

In every major medical decision, it is always wise to get a second opinion. Not to say that your doctor isn’t qualified, but it is important to make sure that objectively this is the right course of action.

Berman: You are saying “second opinion” here; what are your qualifications to weigh in on medicines more than Dr. Anthony Fauci? Why should we listen to you and not Dr. Fauci?

Navarro: “Well, let me suggest John that later in the day you have William Grace on another famous doctor in the city of New York. He can talk eloquently about this. But John, doctors disagree about things all the time. My qualifications in terms of looking at the science is that I am a social scientist. I have a Ph.D., and I understand how to read statistical studies.”

No one, including Navarro, is negating Dr. Fauci’s impressive resume. It could only serve the country to make sure that all the qualifies, and brightest minds are working on a solution. This means there will be differing opinions on the best course of action. Like in the economy, competition often brings the best out of people, and right now, the country needs its best.

There is nothing wrong with getting a second opinion.
