AOC Backed Away from Sanders the Moment His Campaign Promoted Joe Rogan’s Endorsement

Who can forget Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s aggressive endorsement of Bernie Sanders?

Certainly not fans of irony, who had to laugh when the darling of the social justice movement backed a straight old white man back when the field was chock-full of more “progressive” choices. It’s for those same people (of which I am one) that I bring to you this new development in the AOC/Sanders Coalition of Un-Reason.

Basically, the Coalition is unraveling.

After her enthusiastic support in early caucusing days, AOC has evidently decided to split hairs over reasons of moral purity– in particular, a recent endorsement from Joe Rogan.

[The] progressive New York representative disagreed with the campaign over its decision to promote the endorsement of Joe Rogan, the popular podcaster who has been criticized by LGBT activists for opposing puberty blockers for gender-confused children. He has also spoken out against the participation of biological males competing in women’s sports.

On the campaign’s part, Sanders’s campaign manager Faiz Shakir has expressed frustration with some of the nonsensical things AOC has said (or not said, like when she didn’t say “Bernie Sanders” ONCE in the whole speech), which is hilarious, because what the heck else did he expect.

Now, getting Ocasio-Cortez to speak at all for the campaign has been “like pulling teeth,” and she’s been flinging around comments lately about rallying behind whomever the nominee is.

Honestly, it’s getting weird. I mean, what the heck is going on here? Is Ocasio-Cortez getting bored and looking for a new challenge? Is Bernie as impossible to work with as we’ve been told? Did the DNC pay her off to secure a Biden victory? Was Elizabeth Warren actually telling the truth, and Sanders has made some sexist remarks??

HAHA just kidding, I know Warren is incapable of telling the truth. I just needed to pad out my list of hypothetical questions.

But here’s what I’m struggling to understand: There are no two more like-minded politicians out there, so it’s hard to imagine these hair-splitting, social justice-obsessed, my-way-or-the-highway loonies splitting over what the rest of the world would see as trivial differences of opin– oh. Wait.

Maybe AOC is realizing that no one meets her standards of insanity as well as her, and she is incapable of “taking one for the team” unless it wraps her in individual glory. And she’s starting to realize that there will be no glory in backing a losing candidate, so now it’s time to jump ship and get in good with Biden while there’s still time.

Whatever the case is, Ocasio-Cortez’s cooling support is bad news for Bernie, who has so few weapons in his arsenal that AOC has been repeatedly touted as one of the best. I, for one, am enjoying the show.
