MSNBC Fails Basic Math On Live TV, Utterly Humiliates Themselves

My dear sweet, competent readers, I hope this Friday is bringing you all the smiles because it sure has for me. It may come as a shock to y’all, but I don’t watch MSNBC. They never get the facts right, and when they do, the story is so skewed to the left’s talking points that I just end up rolling my eyes to the brink of sleep. It is a waste of my time, but I wish I had watched it last night. It’s like all the conservatives in America prayed that God would show liberals for the idiots that they are, and He did!

Last night on MSNBC, a NY Times Board Member named Mara Gay came on the show to talk about Bloomberg’s wasted money that was spent on his campaign. It was so glorious to watch her say that Bloomberg should have given everyone in America 1 million dollars instead of spending the estimated $500 million on his campaign.

In case the video doesn’t work, this is what Mekita Riva’s tweet and Mara Gay’s argument say:

“Bloomberg spent $500 million on ads. The U.S. population is 327 million. He could have given each American $1 million and still have money left over. I feel like a $1 million check would be life-changing for most people. Yet he wasted it all on ads and STILL LOST.”

THIS ISN’T CORRECT. As both a former engineering major and a teacher, the stupidity is shocking.

Mara Gay and Brian Williams ate up the bad math with the spoon. I am shocked that Brian Williams fell for her complete lack of mathematical skills. MSNBC should have checked the math before putting the tweet on the full screen. Can a single person at MSNBC do basic math?

Listen, I understand that for some people, the math doesn’t come easy, but more times than not, the math they are referring to is not basic every day counting.

The simple way to explain the equation is by taking our sum of ad money, $500 million, and dividing that by the number of people in our country, 327 million. The answer is that everyone in our country would receive $1.52905199 or $1.53 if you are rounding, from Bloomberg.

That is a far cry from the 1 million dollars per person that she calculated. For 327 million people to receive $1 million from Bloomberg, he would need $327 trillion dollars. Bloomberg’s fortune is estimated at $65 billion. A billion is less than a trillion in case she needs to know.

I hope I didn’t lose you on this, but if I did, it is time for some tutoring. I love y’all, but you need some help if your math spidey sense doesn’t activate when you read the original tweet.

Not surprising at all that Mekita didn’t back down from her tweet. You see, liberals have three ways of acknowledging guilt.

1. They blame someone else.
2. They say, “yeah, I was kinda wrong, but I really was right.”
3. They completely ignore it.

Mekita Rivas was number two this time. She has locked her twitter, but luckily for us, Twitter users grabbed her defensive tweet before her account was locked.

“Blah blah math blah blah people are telling me my numbers are wrong but the point still stands: he could easily afford to give everyone $1 million and literally never notice.”

NO MEKITA. NO! Stop! STOP IT RIGHT NOW! Stop tweeting about math!

For every person in our country to receive $1 million from Bloomberg and him never notice the money missing, he would need his fortune to be in the quadrillion dollar range. Please tell me I’m not alone in the facepalming.
