Young Girl Claimed She Was Sexually Assaulted By Police Impersonator But Surveillance Footage Proved Otherwise

The young girl who made the false allegations is a minor, so there won’t be any personal details shared about her.

The event took place in Opelika, Alabama, where the young girl stated the man was impersonating an Opelika authority figure, pulled her over, and ‘sexually groped’ her before she was able to drive away.

On February 20, 2020, WTVM reported:

Officers were called to the area of Old Opelika Rd. at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 19 after it was reported that someone was impersonating an officer.

A teenage female driver was driving alone in her car when a white pickup truck with an amber light flashing pulled up behind her. The driver pulled over and the suspect reportedly sexually groped her before allowing her to leave.

The victim reported that the man, who appeared to be in his mid-to-late forties was wearing a black uniform without patches on the sleeve, but had a badge that said Opelika Police.

Then, on February 28, 2020, WTVM updated the story:

The police department said detectives were able to recreate the exact events reported in the case using surveillance video from multiple sources. Police said once confronted with the evidence, the alleged victim recanted her story and admitted to lying.

The investigation will remain ongoing with the focus shifting on false reporting of the incident. Opelika police said criminal charges are yet to be determined.

AND there was surveillance footage? SMH.

What was the freaking point, then?

I’m curious if a man was even involved at all because we saw a lot of young women attempting to frame men or act like their cheating ways were nonconsensual. So, why make up a story some random 40-year-old dude? Was it simply for attention and nothing more? I mean, wouldn’t be the first time.

Unfortunately this is one of many situations where women have falsely accused men for sexual assault, rape, etc. and nearly ruined their lives.

On a positive note, authorities are cracking down on clearing the names of the falsely accused. The person lying about the assault should be charged accordingly. There needs to be a consistent repercussion for this behavior if we’re ever going to see a decline of it.
