So the Democrat Party is at a point where they have four main front runners. One of them is the mayor of a small town that sucks and also his name is Buttigieg and listen, no one’s said it yet, but I’m going to because someone has to: We cannot elect a man to lead this country whose name is two letters off from Butt Gig. Not on my watch.
Then we have Bernie Sanders, the crusty old white man, and Elizabeth Warren, who’s basically lady Bernie Sanders except she lies more. Then there’s Joe Biden and God knows where he’s at or what he’s doing, because not even Sleepy Joe knows.
He’s also old and crusty, and as the Iowa caucus draws closer Joe and Bernie are finding it increasingly necessary to differentiate themselves from each other. So, like any rational and mature adult, they took to Twitter to sling poo about Social Security.
Sanders “started it,” to use language matching the maturity level some of these candidates have been exhibiting (looking at you, Mrs. “I think you called me a liar” Warren”), with the following ad:
When you look at my record vs. Joe Biden's record, I just don't think that Biden's record is going to bring forth the energy that we need to defeat Trump. pic.twitter.com/Y8UJYJT6wT

It’s just a video of the Sanders campaign fact-checking Sanders, in other words a colossal waste of time, so if you don’t want to watch it, well, same. But I have to, only to distill it for you into the following:
“Joe Biden sucks here’s footage of him arguing to cut Social Security.”
They addressed other instances of 2019/20 Joe Biden saying very different things from the Biden of yesteryear, and in Joe Biden’s defense I probably also wouldn’t remember the things I did 80 years ago when I was just hitting my middle-ages. But it’s the footage in which Sleepy Joe says, “When I argued that we should freeze federal spending, I meant Social Security, as well,” that’s caused the most uproar.
Campaigning in Iowa on Saturday, Biden pushed back, as he pointed to another video from an unverified account that was re-tweeted by the Sanders campaign. That video was deceptively edited to appear to show Biden agreeing with Ryan.
Biden told an audience that “Bernie’s people” had circulated a video that falsely suggested that in 2018 he agreed with then-House Speaker Paul Ryan’s push to dismantle Social Secuirty benefits.
“It’s simply a lie, that video that’s going around,” he said. “This is a doctored tape. And I think it’s beneath, and I’m looking for his campaign to disown it but they haven’t yet.”
Interestingly, he did not express any interest in punching Bernie Sanders in the face. Alas, life does not always imitate art.
In response, Sanders’s campaign manager Faiz Shakir said,
“Joe Biden should be honest with voters and stop trying to doctor his own public record of consistently and repeatedly trying to cut Social Security.”
“The facts are very clear: Biden not only pushed to cut Social Security — he is on tape proudly bragging about it on multiple occasions. The vice president must stop dodging questions about his record, and start explaining why he has so aggressively pushed to slash one of the most significant and successful social programs in American history, which millions of Americans rely on for survival.”
Weirdly enough, between geriatric frat bro Biden and Elizabeth “I don’t even know what the truth is anymore” Warren, I’ve been finding myself rooting for Bernie this past week. Can we get Tulsi back in the debates so she can single-handedly end another one of their campaigns?
