October 8, 2019Holy crap. Everyone is mad at Trump over his decision to pull our troops out of Syria and open the doors for Turkey to invade. And you guys, I’m just going to say it. It doesn’t help when he tweets crap like this:

The response from Republicans has been stern. From lots and lots and lots and lots of people.

No matter what President Trump is saying about his decision, it is EXACTLY what President Obama did in Iraq with even more disastrous consequences for our national security.

There’s plenty more where that came from. And these are folks who are typically supportive of the president. Don’t even get me started on the people who can’t stand him.
Brian Kilmeade was freaking out about this on Fox and Friends this morning too. Here’s their conversation with Sen. Graham:
Not to sound all AOC here, but I am not an expert on foreign policy. Perhaps this is the only realistic move the United States has right now, given how intractable the entire Middle East region is. But at the same time, this seems like a decision made out of nowhere, almost as if Trump’s in such a world of hurt right now with all of the impeachment stuff that he’s basically toppling the whole Monopoly board over and saying, “Screw it IDGAF.”
I want to be wrong about this. I really really do. And there are people a lot smarter than me offering some reassurances:
