In need of a laugh? The generous folks of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) have you covered. I’m not sure releasing the best comedy show of 2019 was what they intended to gain by streaming their national convention, but that’s what happened. And, lucky us, the Twitter-verse has given us highlight reels.

In the clip, James Jackson approaches the mic to make a “point of personal privilege,” which is a new one for me, about distracting noises:
“Uh, quick point of personal privilege, um guys, I just want to say, can we please keep the chatter to the minimum? I’m one of the people who’s very, very prone to sensory overload, There’s a lot of whispering and chattering going on.”
Did you spot his evil, evil mistake? No? Congratulations, you’re a racist.
Jackson’s grievous error was in addressing the assembly as “guys,” which another attendee was falling over himself to point out and yelled/panted into the mic, “”Please do NOT use GENDERED LANGUAGE to address everyone!”
Apparently, Jackson’s personal privilege was voted as too white straight or something, I don’t know how these things are ranked but I imagine there’s some sort of intersectional measuring stick. Anyway, the point is, he had to come back to make a second point of personal privilege:
It gets better, triggered anxiety comrade has another meltdown. Lmfao pic.twitter.com/lljr4tF0yV

“I have ALREADY asked people to be mindful of the chatter of their comrades who are sensitive to sensory overload,” Jackson said. “And that goes DOUBLE for the heckling and the hissing. It is also triggering to my anxiety. Like, being comradely isn’t just for like, keeping things civil or whatever. It’s so people aren’t going to get triggered, and so that it doesn’t affect their performance as a delegate.”
They literally call each other comrade! What is this, Animal Farm?? I’m #ded. It’s just too good. No wonder this kid has anxiety if using the word “guys” is enough to turn the entire DSA against him.
I’d like to make a point of personal privilege right now– socialism sucks and it’s stupid to support it.
Did I do that right? I don’t care. The point is I’m far less worried about the growing socialism movement if this is the best they’ve got.
