Judicial Watch is hot on Ilhan Omar’s trail.
You’ve heard the rumors, right? About Omar being married to her brother and possibly being involved in immigration and tax fraud? She won’t respond to the rumors, ostensibly because she’d much rather claim she’s a victim of racism because ORANGE MAN BAD.
But yeah, the rumors are rampant. And now? Judicial Watch is going after her. HARD. They’ve filed an ethics complaint against her, in a report that alleges Omar married her biological brother (Ahmed Nur Said Elmi) back in 2009 and received benefits as a result of that marriage that she (and her bro-husband) shouldn’t have received. Elmi was her second husband, and the report further alleges that she married him while she was still married to her FIRST husband. Judicial Watch is requesting a full investigation by the House Office of Congressional Ethics.
Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton wrote, “The evidence is overwhelming Rep. Omar may have violated the law and House rules. The House of Representatives must urgently investigate and resolve the serious allegations of wrongdoing by Rep. Omar. We encourage Americans to share their views on Rep. Omar’s apparent misconduct with their congressmen.”
Judicial Watch reports that Omar may be guilty of immigration fraud, because marrying Elmi allowed him to get US citizenship and emigrate here from the UK. It also alleges that their marriage allowed him to get federal student loans to attend North Dakota State University – loans he couldn’t have gotten without being a citizen through marriage.
When Omar divorced Elmi in 2017, she allegedly also submitted an Application for an Order for Service by Alternative Means form, which is a form that states she had no idea where Elmi was, didn’t know how to find him, and hadn’t seen him since 2011. (You can see a blank version of the form right here).
Except ooopsie – there’s an Instagram photo of the two of them together in 2015 in London. That would mean that when she signed the form, she was perjuring herself.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg of the shadiness that surrounds Ilhan Omar. I’m glad Judicial Watch is pursuing it, but unfortunately it may be unlikely that the House Ethics Committee actually follows up on it, seeing as how mainstream media outlets aren’t touching the story because they can’t bear to write anything potentially damaging about the Bitch Batallion Squad.
Godspeed, Judicial Watch.
