So, if you missed out on the drama yesterday, here’s what happened in a nutshell.
1. Trump tweeted, and it wasn’t good. He implied that all members of the Bitch Batallion squad should go back to the countries they came from. You can disagree with that assessment of his tweet all you want, but it doesn’t really matter how you interpret it. The point is, it WAS interpreted to say exactly that, and it was branded racist, as is pretty much everything the President says or does ever.
2. Every Democrat and their mom expressed outrage.
3. Nancy Pelosi figured she had to somehow get the attention back from the Bitch Batallion squad, so she decided to hold a House vote to condemn Trump’s tweets.
4. When Pelosi took to the floor, she said, “There is no place anywhere for the president’s words, which are not only divisive, but dangerous — and have legitimized and increased fear and hatred of new Americans and people of color. It’s so sad because you would think that there would be a given that we would universally, in this body, just say, ‘Of course. Of course.’ There’s no excuse for any response to those words but a swift and strong unified condemnation. Every single member of this institution, Democratic and Republican, should join us in condemning the president’s racist tweets. To do anything less would be a shocking rejection of our values, and a shameful abdication of our oath of office to protect the American people. I urge a unanimous vote, and yield back the balance of my time.”
5. Rep Doug Collins immediately jumped in to challenge her phrasing, because it’s against House ethics rules to bring up personality in debates about issues.
6. Pelosi fought back, saying she’d cleared her remarks with the Parliamentarian.
7. Collins asked for her words to be taken down.
8. Dude who was running the show at the moment, Democrat Emanuel Cleaver, totally lost his patience with the entire charade, and you guys, he freaking ABANDONED THE CHAIR. Like, he said, “I’m abandoning the chair” and dropped the gavel and walked off. He was SO TOTALLY OVER IT, and you guys, in that moment, he was literally ALL OF US. That’s apparently never happened, so it’s kind of a big deal.
9. For a brief bit, Rep. GK Butterfield took the chair, and then Steny Hoyer took it, saying Pelosi’s words were out of order, which meant that she was banned from speaking briefly, which was amazing. She also left the House floor, which is another violation of House rules when a representative’s words are being stricken.
10. A vote was then taken by the Democrat held house to NOT strike her words from the record, and to restore her ability to speak.
So basically, while Pelosi was trying to condemn Trump for being unethical, she broke House ethics rules, and then every single Democrat lined up behind her to express their support in breaking ethics rules so that they could then vote to condemn Trump for being unethical.
THIS IS OUR GOVERNMENT, you guys. Are they governing? Nope.
And now? The Bitch Batallion is very very busy thrusting themselves even more into the spotlight, by doing an interview with Gayle King that airs in full this morning. Here are two excerpts:
So see, Nancy Pelosi should be coming to THEM, you guys. And perhaps she would if they weren’t constantly trying to be on TV, I dunno.
Watching Tlaib try to say that Trump is at fault for creating this distraction is absolutely laughable. THESE HAGS ARE CONSTANTLY choosing the spotlight over doing the work they were elected to do, by the idiots who Actually Voted for them. Tlaib screaming, “I’m GOING TO IMPEACH THE MOTHERF*CKER” on election night and then whining about him being the biggest bully? PUH-LEEEEEZE.
Don’t try to tell me what core American values are, Rashida. You’re a SOCIALIST, for crying out loud.
These women are relentlessly horrible and while I don’t wish them harm, I wouldn’t mind if they all suffered simultaneous raging yeast infections. Or SOMETHING.
Anyway, our government is a clownshow, and these women own a lot of that. Meanwhile, the border crisis continues, and these hags aren’t doing JACK about it.
The good news? Their fight with Pelosi is far from over, it’s likely to get even more juicy, and you KNOW Trump is sitting back and watching this in TOTAL GLEE.
